Regarding pit entry, do we enter at the proper entrance or can we take the hairpin then dive into the pits.

Do this and things will be better. Each individual can also do their bit too by going to their lounge setting page and check their connection there. It should say Nat type 2 and band width high or medium, if it is lower, say band width low, you will know you may be causing problems in a room with a large number of people in it. The person with the poor connect may not even experience major problems, the game may run fine but not see some people in room and see others jumping a bit and it can cause the host to have problem and disconnection issues. If it says Nat type 3 you should consider upgrading internet or just play off line, cos its most definitely going to cause problems to all.
We try to pick a host with the best connection for this reason, but it whould be a good idea for all to know what they are running before each race. In most cases a simple reset on the modem brings your bandwidth and Nat type back up to standard. I have pretty good internet now and it still some times drops to low band width, but always fixed by turning off modem and disconnecting power supply to it (not good enough to just turn of at power point as transformer still provides a little power to it) for 10 seconds but a min makes sure.

Will have a look at pit tonight, but haven't noticed the pit lane grabbing control before the hair pin like in the other track we had to make a ruling on where you had to drive through witches hats to pit after the bend. I think it will be you pit after the bend as i have seen some people (me) run wide round that corner when not pitting.

I was going to say the same thing, I seem to run deep and wide most times around that corner.

For clarification, if you are in a group of racers and are planning a pit-stop, then common courtesy will have you going around the outer edge so as not to impede fellow racers continuing on. If you are on your lonesome, then take the corner and enter after the turn. If you're like me, you'll be going the wide route on about 20 of the 24 laps...lmao.

Great advice re: the resetting the router/ clearing the cache before a race. I have done that for every race I've hosted and although there have been some network issues, the majority of guys join in without hassles.

    :)

Hey guys, just a reminder, kicking off the season tonight at the tight and tricky Cape Ring South.

Bring your game-face and lets have some fun. Note the half hour later start (for the Div 2 racers from last season), I'll probably be on earlier for some practice... I need lots of it...lol

    See-ya's tonight.

    :)

Hey guys, how was the opening race? Results?

I got home in time for the qualy but I chose not to get on, hadn't put in much prac and wasn't good timing to stick in for the race.

The game froze on me twice in the same spot, when I went back to the lounge from watching the prac/qualy.... but haven't been disconnected for a while now!

Some great pics there firewind, well done on the win. Top 3 in a class of their own from that result!!

I had a great race with veno, ran behind him till I pitted on lap 14 I think, then got 4th when he pitted next lap. Had a great battle till I made a silly mistake and left the inside open into turn 1 and he took the position off me with 3 to go. I closed in again and followed close but just couldn't take it back finishing 5th by .2 of a sec.

Great fun with a big grid. Thanks guys for some great racing

Great racing last night, probably one of the most enjoyable pressures packed races I have had on GT5. Firewind has summed it up pretty good with that pick story, good work M8. I was surrounded by red all race, firewind in front and flood right behind me, right to the last lap, I think you must have had a little off there flood. Qualifying pole was a big shock to me, I had done my best ever time in the first few laps with a 115.48 and thought I may still loose second spot as firewind had already got a 115.1. I pitted lap 5 for new tyres and came out looking to get a little closer to firewind. On the first sector of the first flying lap with the new shoos, I was .2 up and just tried to keep it smooth for the rest of the lap. I was shocked to see the 115.006, I had done a fair bit of practice to learn this track and that time was a full half second better than any lap i had done. Wrapped my first pole in GtleagueOz.
Good win firewind and great pressure flood all race, I had one finger hovering over the rear view button all race and thought you were going to get me at some stage. My Pit strategy was to pit lap 12 and when firewind stayed out I new I had a chance to get the lead back if I could put in a flying out lap. I came out of pits just in front of Flood and managed to stay there and get a reasonable lap and pass Firewind as he left the pits. But it wasnt long after firewind got the lead back. The brakes on this thing dont work too well when you get in to someones draft, that flap break must work properly cos it doesnt work with out wind. You are breaking fine then as soon as you get within a car length they stop working. Firewind gave me a few little bumps (nothing nasty just that break thing) on one lap and I did the same back when I tried to challenge him back.
I really enjoyed that track and this car is good fun, it has a good feel to it.
Next track is a good track that Im not good at, at all, so may be doing a lot of practice this week too.

Great stuff Bonus. Ditto on the car/track, and next week, yea I'm not so great at Nurburg GP either..

Nice pics Fir3wind. I especially like the shots looking into the cockpits and the 'back to the future' style floating cars in the pits! hehe. Congrats on the win. You need to resize your pictures or use clickable thumbnails to stop the forum cropping the RHS.
