Getting back to car discussion: 1972 Ford Escort RS1600 would make for some fun and close racing  Easy to drive out of the box.

Haha yeah it was carnage but I was pleasantly surprised to see no dirty driving in a public lobby.

That was my first time driving the F4's and I was surprised by how good they felt.

*Edit. Drove them a little more today. Mmm dunno think we can do better.

Ok so while Ad2mny is indisposed, I have been asked to run the car selection, I will be starting a new thread shortly with some polls in it.

In the meantime I ask people who would like to voice their ideas/selections to to try their cars on default settings with the possibility of a non-tune season and adjust their car suggestions accordingly.

    Thank you.

Why can't we have a vote for tuning and non tuning? Not happy at all about the thought of non tuning

I am not saying it will go either way, I need to discuss further with Jamie and Stu, I am just saying be prepared if it does go that way, so lets pick some cars that handle well out of the box, and if we have tuning we have a good base, and if we don't at least we can still drive it. Remember Rooz was built on non-tune series', it's about the driver, not the tuner...

Anyway I thought you said you was out as you had bikes to concentrate on???

So we'll have to get a screen shot of a tune we have done for what ever car and save it then reset the car to default tune. Most of my cars are tuned to each track so we'll need to save them some how.

Yer because you have a tune setup for that track it stays on that car even with no tuning on

I know where my vote is going.

The Toyota 86 Rocket Bunny edition.

That thing is quite frankly the perfect affordable race car. There's a reason why next year the Toyota 86 will join V8 Supercars for 5 rounds of the year. It's a new series and they have a 3 year contract. It will be televised too.

If we run this series with the 86 Rocket Bunny we'll then be able to appreciate more the real life 86 series that will be running. Imo that's pretty cool.

Anyway that's my vote. It won't be changing because the car is sensational out of the box and without a tune.

That is not the case mate. We run no tune quite often during the week. It does not effect from what I have seen your saved tunes.
Its not like GT6 where it wouldn't let you on the track if you have changed any more that brake bias, it basically just loads you into the track and keeps your steering ratio and FFB settings. Works a treat you chaps should give it a try one evening.

Could we race these in season 2? No tune of course.

Well, too many more 2 am finishes and im not sure how long ill be able to keep it up.....bkoody eyes hanging out of my head this morning

ALSO, the decision is yet to be made regarding tune / no tune sunday nights, i am still of the opinion that a non tune series is the fairest for the majority of our members.......i will be a little more of a passenger setting up this series given how new i am to it all, but will help the guys with anything they need.

Something like a slow touring car (Clio Cup) or a Road C or D would provide the closest racing. However faster cars can be more fun and challenging to drive and a better spectacle.GO THE CATERHAM 7 CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally agree but for me something a little faster is just so much fun.

I raced the stock 86 and Caterham 7 classic around the ring yesterday and they are challenging in their own ways, but just too slow imo. After a while, just like your real life car, you crave more power.

I love the idea of slower, closer racing. But would rather find a happy medium instead of going too far in the one direction.
