We are discussing that currently over here http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/car-discussion-gt-sport-season-2.3038/#post-158463
Some ideas I'd like to throw out here: Rolling starts Oval round (probably Blue Moon Bay) Less than full fuel load at race start Specific qualifying tire compound (Supersoft) Manual grid order to start on another compound (Soft or Medium) Tire wear rate 3x or more (testing required)
Good suggestions all round. A rolling start on an oval sure. Tyre rate where it is, its fine except the fact the hard tyre makes the whole race even the enduro. So a compound change sure. Different tyres at the start is a good one. All things that make race strategy a big part. For those who cant practice enough, when the teams are sorted the team discussions are used etc.
I would like to see higher tyre wear with open tyre choice. I know this needs a lot of testing and will also depend on the car chosen for next season. Teams would be good so ideas can be shared with other people and make for good racing. I like the standing starts but with traction control and no need for reaction time it is kind of pointless. So I'm not against rolling starts as this will limit people getting stuck on the grid which hasn't happened much but still does happen occasionally.
Ok ouch I hadn't seen that but good to know. Is there any chance if we use a lower horsepower car that we ban TCS.
Probably won't need more than x2 tyre wear if you open the compounds up. I think a mandatory pitstop and minimum 2 compound use could work well. x2 rate for last nights race would have meant you could either run mediums pushing until about lap 17 then switch to softs, or run mediums conservatively until about 22-23 then hammer home on Supers. Just adds a touch of strategy that can cater well for different driving styles and allow fuel usage to still be an important element in a good strat. If you're going to start mixing up strategy elements it's probably worth keeping the same car for next season so we can compare how well it gets implemented. It's all well and good to test things in the off-season with a control group, but you're always going to get a few guys who think left of field and "break" the system with genius plans mid-season and make everyone else (especially admins) look a bit silly. Then you get whinging...
we can't force it not to be at the moment. There is no lobby option to lock it. BOP on only locks hp and kg
Just a thought, I know im new here, and have minimal experience but I reckon a '1 weekend full out time attack' would be sweet. More like a 'themed event' where you have whatever car you want, and can change the tune/settings of it to produce the overall fastest lap of the weekend. This wouldnt affect the league standings. Not sure if you guys do it, I assume you would, but running the tracks in reverse to throw people off who know tracks really well. I also read in a different thread...will have to find it, but having some of the aliens amongst us to have a 'tips and tricks' kinda event where others can learn and develop more pace. Also I dont know how you would implement it, but a race like the old days, where everyone lines up and had to run across the track and into their cars and take off. Guess that one is more of a dream than anything
Maybe we all need to have a beer at the ready, pop the top and when you finish it you can leave the pits haha? Liquid courage! I can take this hairpin at 200kph no worries
