Like what Feccles said, I think a change of pace is good. The last few cars have indeed been comparatively lively, but I think the change of pace is nice, will give us a new style of season, plus at the end of the day, it's what the people wanted.

You'll find that the carnage was caused by the D1 lads, who generally speaking don't put a lot of merit in the MnG and just have some fun instead.
Come race day though, it'll be a race for sure, as you are likely expecting.
