i know i coudn't believe i went wide, i took it soooo carefully, tires must have been totally stuffed. So glad i didn't lose a place because of that, i would have had big blow ups.... lol I did a real bad last corner choke last season to lose what would have been my only 1st place, so yeh I was having flashbacks for a second there.... lol

haha, i saw the cloud of dust infront of me and was kinda hoping to see you go shooting across towards the pits haha.

Yeah my front tyres didn't want to turn in on the hairpin before the first tunnel, i think on second or third last lap, so made a few sandcastles, lost about 3-4 seconds there which allowed you guys to catch up

Yeah it was all good, didn't make me lose control at all, and all part of racing, you sort of need to touch to try to get the position sometimes and most of the time it's because the guy in front brakes a little bit earlier than you expected (which I think i was guilty of more than once )

Guys as a side note, can people PLEASE make sure they read this thread through before the races, or at least just the race notification. After about a week of us selecting our colours, two people (no less) chose the colour i had requested. There are so many colours i couldn't believe that people picked the same ones. The colours are now as follows:

I just tried to pick a colour that others wernt using as my selection was based on div 2 so I didnt know what every one would be using. No one seemed to be using the grey one so I used that, I have no idea what its called though I'll have to check after.

I picked Moonraker Black because it wasn't claimed here before. Why have you assigned me Pearlescent? That was the one you wanted!

Edit: I intended to pick Black but because I was incredibly late after an internet dropout with 5 minutes to go and rushing to get to track I probably picked the wrong one.

Awesome_Aleks had Crystal Topaz Pearlescent, and someone else as well at one stage, they must have changed. i thought u ended up with it as well, didn't see u for most of the race. I have adjusted it so that you can pick another colour as I never see Aleks on the forum so he wont know to change, is that ok Badz? let me know which one you want. i am staying black. I don't want to waste any more posts on colours in this thread.

I picked Black on page 2 and my second preference is Cooper Green.

just watched the replay then and you can tell how much of an advantage having a wheel has. All you need to do is look at tech's rear tyres and compare them to everyone else's and see how much a difference having the throttle control of a pedal rather than a button or a trigger has. The triggers on DS3 suck ass, so hard to get the precision throttle control required with these tyres.

yeh that was my main concern with the merging of divisions, people with wheels vs controller. Throttle control is adjustable with a wheel, which is probably the most important thing in racing. Which in turn, saves the outta your tyres because ur not losing traction nearly as much. I have to compensate for this by using some TCS for this car, which i really would rather not, my hands are just not steady enough to go without.

i'm the same and it's the one thing that I'm frustrated with the DS3 for. So many times I know I can get on the gas earlier than I am but due to ty throttle control of triggers, I can't and thus lose potential time.

Looking for a good deal? Buy a good wheel no matter what you pay its a good deal. Cheap (as cheap as you want to go with out getting nasty Ask Azza bout nasty) but real good for gt5 is the Logitech driving force GT, all the guys i know with this wheel are real quick, don't know if its the wheel or the driver but Ill say its the wheel to stir em up a bit. G25 is high end wheel but hard to find, spend a lot of time on racing games save up and go the fanatec or top of the range thrustmaster.
Got any friends in the USA get them to buy it and send it to you, will save hundreds because of our dollar at the moment. Local resellers are ripping us off here, fanatec wheel for $800, you can get it sent to you from someone in the USA shipping included for $500 and thats after it has been sent to them from Germany (i think) which is where our importers get it direct from. All transaction are done in US dollars so don't know why our guys are so dear. You can do the same for all games, near half price buying from a m8 in USA.

Yea its sorta weird for me though as Ive always worn my fronts more than my rears for every car we've race. Last season in the supra every race my fronts would be the worst out of every one but I would have more rear tread. I think It must be a fault with my driving style, cause every one else would have even tyre wear except me.

Quite frankly it suxs when your fronts wear more than they should as you have to go so slow around corners otherwise you oversteer off, having better rears helps to get on the throttle though and looking at the replay I did notice my rears were better than most.
I use a DFGT btw got it for $99 last september from DSE for the price its well worth it.

Isn't the Driving force wheel rubbish tho. the guy at GAME quoted me $599 for the new G27. How can there be that much difference. I reckon the driving force would be more trouble than it's worth? ie. slower than a controller?

No its a good wheel from all reports i have heard and it has the RA function dials on the wheel, ask NOS neishy he has one. The G27 doesn't let you set buttons for the RA function so not worth it.

sounds like the first race was a success, good racing fellas.

i think i choose rosso pearlescent on the first page, but because i missed the first race i am happy to choose another colour.

i should be good to go for the rest of the season. Are we doing the same thing as last season where we drop the worst performance i.e. this week won't count for me since i was a no show?
