Thanks, you too! I used to want a HD but was just too expensive for what I was able to spend at the time. I also come from sportsbike background (05' ZX10R & '09 GSXR1000) so this was more up my alley after several years out of the saddle. Really miss the ZX10, that thing was an animal. Used to have an MY18 STI up until this time last year, sold it to focus on house deposit saving etc... can't wait to get back into another decent car...
Daily on the left, weekender on the right. Could both be weekenders but I'm not quite convinced on the Golf's technical ability on the track (never actually taken it out though)
Yeah, I stumbled upon it when I was shopping around - It is a JDM Import. Combustion engine is from the Micra, electric is from the Leaf. It's a series hybrid, so combustion engine acts purely as a portable generator. Only the electric motor is connected to drivetrain, so it has that electric motor kind of response. So far I'm hitting around 25km per litre in ECO mode (I think it's a 47L tank), Sport mode is quite zippy, though it's at the cost of fuel consumption.
That's mega! Would feel pretty cool having a tidy, new JDM import too. Wouldn't be too many in the country surely.
I think these only started popping up in the last six months or so, conditions usually indicate must be minimum 5 years and not previously brought in by Australian disty. This is a 2017 model, I got it with around 36000km on the clock, it presents really clean, though I did have a couple of error codes which the reseller addressed. I do really enjoy it though and I have to say, single reduction gear/auto transmission in peak hour is heaven after the last 20+ years in a manual.
I do really enjoy driving it, it has taken some of the stress out of the morning commute. Interior is quite nice too, bolstered front seats with Nismo branding. And can fit a second me in the back which is hugely surprising.
