Thats an interesting thing about going onto a slower tyre for the sprint round. I like the balls-to-the-wall sprint race to the flag, bit why not just turn the tyre wear rate down if that was a concern?

Hi All, as-per my Div.2 post, for this weekend at the Burger Ring:

Are we just running this one dry, and save the rain for LeMans ?
For time change - if we start at 8am game time, with time acceleration around 18-20x ?
That gives 20-25mins of night-time, and we should finish late afternoon the next day.

I tried time on 60x and it's just silly - night only lasts 1 lap !

Sorry Nat, the decision was made early on to forgo the weather and time changes. It's a great innovation to the racing, but it is a real pain trying to get it right. Plus the ring is hard enough in the daytime!!

    :(

There goes my little 'advantage' :)

*Can we at least make it so the race runs from sunrise to sunset? I just think it might be a bit dull having the same time for an hour and a half. (waits for rage from mods)

That's a shame, a bit of night-time would have been good but oh well, I guess it will make it a bit easier for those with not much experience at the Nurb. Also thank CHRIST there's no rain here lol :D

    Ok, so !

LeMans - while we've still got a couple of weeks to argue on the time/weather settings:

I say Dawn-til-Dusk, with Weather set on 0 Changeability, 0 Weather (i.e. Dry) and 100% standing water.
    i.e. Start 5:20am, 7x Time, full-wet qual, ~75% wet start (full-wets) and drying track.
(World doesn't reset when the race starts - it's straight off the back of Qual.)

Same for all Div's, fastest laps will be comparable, and everyone gets the same conditions. Yeah?

Sounds awesome mate, but from memory we are using the 2005 track, which doesn't allow any sort of setting changes :(

The '09 track has Tilke style runoff areas and a (IMO) less tight Tertre Rouge. The '05 version features sand traps at the first chicane, Tertre Rouge and the runoff at the end of the Mulsanne is shorter.

Oh, and it lacks the totally bull#%! 10 second time penalties for running wide crap. It would be unfair to lose a race based on running fractionally wide.
