Yeah my luck better improve. I'll probably concentrate on the GT5 racing till the end of this season and then maybe get into iracing more. I don't want to commit too much and spend a heap of cash on tracks and cars until I have the time to play it full-on. Once it has taken hold i'm sure I won't be able to stop. I've been a big MMO fan in the past, mostly World Of Warcraft, which i played for 6 years pretty hardcore, and iracing is kinda like a racing MMO i guess, so once it has me by the throat it won't let go i'm sure. Other than the stupid incidents, I am rather enjoying it, but It just hasn't quite tightened it's grip on me yet.
iRace #3 brings my first win. Started first on the grid at Okayama after improving my qualifier in the MX-5 Roadster. Off to a good start I had some ground until I grabbed 1st gear instead of 3rd and nearly spun. Within a couple of laps I re-took 2 positions to be back in the lead and drove home incident free, pulling something like a 30s lead with consistent low 1:02's... SR = 3.85, hopefully one more race and I'm up for promotion. http://members.iracing.com/membersite/member/EventResult.do?&subsessionid=3930076&custid=74605
http://www.iracing.com/iracing-2-update ... gisbergen/ Great wrap up of our verry own Mad94d (we can claim a little part of him) from gizzy. Good job Mad, might see you giving Lowndsy and wincup a run for their money in the real deal. Go to 888 m8 they need the best drivers.
haha cheers mate! Was pretty chuffed when he wrote that article. Went and gave him a quick thanks on facebook when that article was released. Pretty awesome to hear what he thinks of the sim. Particularly from some of the stuff he has told me on facebook, the Giz is developing the NTM on the V8 Supercar so that shall definitely improve the realism from it!
Nice stats for your 1st few races %100 top 5. I'll add you next time im on, gonna give it a break a few days. I happened to have yesterday off and did way too much driving. After doing a B oval race in which I jagged a 3rd, I tried to do a couple more races but I was to knacked. Ended up disconcecting my last 2 races, as I was getting cabin fever. Lost 100 ir one oval race from disconecting after poor driving by myself. Yea Mad is a top driver far far out my league.
Hey Chev I read the iRacing sporting code yesterday. They actually encourage you to report incidents like this and lodge a protest. They will be judicated by a panel and disciplinary action taken.. Just like real racing. Do it, report him mate! it will help clean up the experience for everyone by getting that guy disciplined or hopefully banned. http://membersmedia.iracing.com/pdfs/FIRST_Sporting_Code_v2011.05.05.01.pdf
Refer Section 2.2 (page 9) "On track conduct" Article 2.2.3 drivers can report reckless driving to <!-- e --><a href="mailtorotest@iracing.com">protest@iracing.com</a><!-- e --> (see section 8) "failure to drive with respect for other competitors will lead to substantial santions. Those who habitually engage in bad on-track behaviour will be removed from our community" Refer Section 6.11 (page 28) "Reckless Driving" Article 6.11.3 intentional wrecking is explicitly prohibited. "competitors are strongly encouraged to file Protests in accordance with Section 8" Refer Section 7 (page 28) "Penalties" Penalties include suspension and permanent revocation of membership. Probation or suspension must be served while iRacing membership is active. Refer Section 8 (page 31) "Lodging a Protest" Provide; Session ID, date, code sections violated, offending driver, explaination of protest, attachments i.e. replay, chat log etc. I would say do it. If he's done it to you chances are he's done it before. While one protest might only get him a warning or suspension, several might get his membership revoked. Stick it to him hard. There's a raat in me kitchen what um-a-gonna-do There's a raat in me kitchen what um-a-gonna-do... I'm gonna 'em, I'm gonna f****k 'em uuuuuup!
Yeah, the protest system does work obviously. Just make sure you save your replay for evidence etc if you do decide to protest someone. I've never had to protest anyone, but if it is blatantly bad (eg someone cuts the corner just to take me out etc) I will definitely protest.
I'll let it slide this time. It was pretty clear the guy had no idea where he was, and is most probably mentally disabled in some way. But if I see him again ill be putting my bumper through his forehead.
Watch out for a guy called "Rob Racer". He loves the MX-5's and at first appears to be a good driver, until you get passed him... He executed a PIT manouvre on me and one other guy down straight sections, also swerved erratically to block this other guy down the main straight. I have lodged a protest against him.....I wasn't going to until not only did he not apologise, but claimed he did nothing wrong and accused me of blocking. Upon viewing the replay at first it looks like he just failed to move as I move across track towards my apex line, it's subtle, but he definitely deliberately moves back towards me to turn me around. In case you haven't noticed. I'm vindictive and I love it
Heh Ive raced with rob a few times, he does have abit of an ego and yea he only does the Mx-5. He needs to buy some new content I stir him up about every time I see him. Beaten him a few times. Myself I had a shocking week on iracing, made to many small errors and quit so many races out of frustration. One Star Mazda race I started 4th had an incident and dropped back to 16th. After many laps I made it back to 4th, then grassed it and had to watch about 10 cars I had just passed pass me.....................Couldnt be stuffed after that and raged quit. Personally Id like to see a couple more shorter races in the higher licence classes, some off them take over an hour. I cant concentrate long enough. Oh and Koastr your stats are BOSS....lol! You could become one of the Aliens if you stick with it. (Aliens are known as the super fast guys at Iracing) I see you had a race with Giz this week, I got in a split with him and Mcleod during the week too. I saved the replay so I can watch Giz's insane laps and try learn ( he has very agressive driving style, he throws that Mx-5 around)
Hey thanks mate! Off to a good start I think. Hopefully will buy some new content this week. Yea I raced with Mad and Giz. Have found some extra pace since then but it probably wouldn't have changed the result against those guys! I also saved the replay; a) to also learn off Giz; b) because that's the race I witnessed Rob swerving to block and then PIT manouvre a guy called Shaun. Haven't been able to watch it yet though, when I tried I got error message "could not connect to server" over and over....
Giz is a rocket in the MX5. Interestingly he hasn't really been on the money in the V8SC recently. But as far as i'm aware he is racing it tonight and he's on pole so far for the week! So we'll see what happens! McLeod as well as you probably know TekNique is a regular front runner in the V8SC series as well. He always races cleanly too which is fantastic. V8's at infineon tonight! Anyone gonna have a race? 6:45pm (ASET) and 8:45pm (AEST)are the SOF races if anyone is interested!
Hey fellas ... long time, no anything Any chance somone could put a quick post together with folks iRacing names ... Outta found me, somehow, and Carn gave me KoAStR's and Beau's names (invites sent) ... so who else is on, and who can I add ? If anyone is interested in added me, I'm Christopher Rigby iRacing ... it's the bizzo. I'm taking my time working up to the V8 (and what ever other monsters Madz is peddling, so I haven't eaten his dust just yet) ... I ran a full season in the Spec Racer and am now doing 12 wks in the Skip ... concentrating on one ride at a time, and working up the classes slowly ... and having a ball Will post pics of my 3-screener in the other thread soon ... Looking forward to seeing you all in the near future ... though I imagine many of you will head straight for the V8s
Hey there he is! G'day Stone. Good stuff mate. I'm not rushing into the V8's either!. I bought the mustang and the skip last night after a week of spec racer and MX-5 events. To get the 6 items discount, I bundled that with 4 tracks selected based on being common to skip, mustang, and the V8 series. Will probably focus on the skip as I have the next four tracks in the series for that and don't have this weeks mustang track. So yea mate I'll be there to run some races with you for sure. If you want to do some more Spec Racer events I'll be well up for it too. Pretty happy with my tune for that at the moment (well at the one track I've raced it anyway) Oh and I'm loving the little legends car too. Have done a few oval races in that and would be dead keen for a road track hosted session some time.
BTW the lift off oversteer in the skip isn't as bad as I expected. From comments I heard I thought it would be worse than the spec racer, but the way I have my spec tuned I think that's got more lift off oversteer. You're going so much faster in the skip so the result can be more catastrophic but at the same time the oversteer seems a little more progressive with more chance to catch it. Having said that, in my first tests for the limits and doing some tuning at Suzuka I probably only completed 3 - 4 laps of the 10 or so times I set out from the pit stall! I had great fun though, working the wheel furiously around corners!
