If we're going to have teams of 4 across 2 classes, we could make it so that you can't have 2 of the same car within a team (or perhaps have bonus points on offer for teams that do run 4 different vehicles), though that does mean more work on setup and strategy. With any luck, once people have done their homework to get a good tune, the cars will be fairly even. The enduros are going to bring fuel mileage, tyre wear and consistency into play.
2 of the same would just make it a lot easier for the teams to collaborate on setup & for anyone jumping in as a reserve or fill in. if one guy is doing the setup work then he only has to test 2 cars bonus points for 4 different cars is a good idea
What do you mean different cars? Like 2 different lmp2 cars and 2 different GTE cars in one team? I think allow it as some might love the Ferrari and others might prefer the Porsche or ford. Plus if there's a dominate car then others a screwed. I wouldn't like extra points as Nige described.
you got it Spidey. allow 4 different cars definitely (no points). allow 2 to be the same ? im just wondering if this would be helpful
I'd be happy to leave it open to the teams so long as 1 is in the different class ie. 3 GTE's of whatever make and 1 LMP2 car. That way you get the multi class numbers but allow 3 guys to run the Ferrari and share the setup. Same goes the other way as well, 3 LMP2 cars and 1 GTE.
Yeah, but given results points are based on class finishing position, your team will be at a disadvantage if it runs 3 cars in 1 class. Ultimately the maximum points a team can score is 1st and 2nd in both classes. 25x2 + 20x2 + 10x4, 130pts. Very unlikely to see that though.
Just a suggestion, have a different car depending on division to even put the playing field, otherwise you will probably have a series with only 5 or 6 people.
This is true but for some people who will 100% not want to drive a GTE car or LMP car, this will make them either not race or have to go to another team. That's a choice up to the team, whether they max out their points by having 2 cars in each class or having people drive what they want or feel comfortable in.
it could be an interesting strategic decision to run 3 cars in the same class, but i think the most important thing is for each driver to be comfortable in the car they're driving
Need to decide on a name. Best I can come up with right now is Raceonoz Dual Class Team Endurance Championship (R-DCTEC) or even just RTEC. I'm open to ideas.
I like RTEC because it leaves us open to having more than just dual class in the future, or if single class comes up. Dual class restricts us to just that. I really like the "team" word in there. Spells it out to everyone. I'd be happy to go with Raceonoz Team Endurance Championship (RTEC) right now. The only others I can think of was stealing the GTS guys and putting a "world" or "super" in from of the Endurance Championship part.
Let's go with RTEC as we seem to agree on this. @its-benny-racer are you able to put a new thread up this weekend with the details? We'll be able to get an idea on numbers and progress further from there
