Just following up on this one as it's still not clear to me what action to expect if one were to qualify on the soft compound and then change to a different compound for the race start. Rear of grid or something else?
The rules say rear of grid, but it would have to have been picked up by the room captain before the race starts or the penalty would be carried over to the next round contested by the offender.
Which kind defeats changing compounds, but you gotta get caught I suppose. You could only change tyres if the room is in Practice/Race mode too.
I'd say serving the ROG penalty next round is more severe (and hence more of a deterrent) than serving in the race in question, as presumably the motive for changing to a harder compound is because qually times were mid to back of field anyway (or no time set) and the driver is trying to gain an advantage by not burning up their soft compound in the first stint. I guess carrying the penalty to the next race doesn't work though if the offense is in the last race of a season.
Im out, after having a start to go back to last then have people infront of me crash and people backing off and spinning me out and all that after 2 laps its not worth doing the whole race, I can't recover from that so I just quit.
I thought you were on your own when you spun at that long left hander, then I passed you and you dropped out after?
have to say well done to @Byron Phillips bouncing back from the penalties last round to take a close pole position and close win over @KeedenMcdonald also to @Twitchy after having a difficult first round last week to being close to a podium
Yeah I spun out there by myself on that one. I was annoyed at myself and how I was racing last night after I was quick through the week. Didn't think I'd make it a whole race driving that bad haha
Cheers hat, am stoked with qual and race results, well done to keeden and Matt on the podium and twitchy after starting 10th to nearly picking up a podium
