What an awesome curtain raiser for the season. Only managed to qualify 6th for the start but after turns 1&2 I was back to second last. Put my head down and just tried to put in some decent lap times and hoped the field would come back to me. It did, with a string of incidents unfolding in front of me I found myself back in the pack that fought for second for 3/4 of the race. In the end it was another unfortunate spin for someone else that handed my second right at the death with only two(?) laps to go. Great battles with everyone's pace so close when in the pack. Except maybe Jono, well done mate. Just too quick, once you got some clean air in front and back you were gone. Appologies to anyone that was affected by any lag that I may have had at any stage. Hopefully by next week I'll be running a wired connection and fingers crossed it cleans up even more.
Less unfortunate spin, more Scotty brainfart. broke too late and just punted Natman. Then gave up a spot to Cob while redressing, then struggled while overdriving with low grip and bugger all turn in, and ended up going from 2nd to 6th in the last 2 laps. Had a great battle with Cob! We are very similar pace and I'm sure there will be lots of good battles ahead! That pack battle was epic. N64, 2:03.1!!!! you certainly drove like a demon tonight. Great job! Thanks for a great race guys!
Was a cracker of a race to start the season guys. I qualified 3rd, but started second thanks to yet another GT6 glitch that saw stig relegated from pole to tenth. I got a good start and had a dive with natman for the first few laps, till he ran wide at turn 11 onto the back straight on about lap 6. In the lead, stig was chasing me hard, a small lag punt knocked me to 2nd, but thankfully stig redressed and we got on with it again. He got past cleanly on about lap 10, and I then had natman closing in, for 2nd. I had the plan of letting him go, and riding in his draft but a slow exit out of the turn 7 hairpin saw him clip my right rear and round I went, and away slipped a podium. We spent the next 6 or 7 laps chasing down 2nd, 3rd and 4th and we finally got on their tail, and then Had some of the most intense racing I ever had at ROOZ. 5 cars, nose to tail, or 3 wide with 2 in the draft, made for some cracking racing with Scotty making a bit of a mistake on the last lap, which saw me sneak past for a hard earned, if not slightly disappointing 5th. Well done to stig, solid win first up, and to the other guys ok some great racing, Scotty, tb, cob and Nat, hopefully we can have some more cracking battles through the season. On to apricot hill !
Results? N64 on pole??, lap times and FL? So far I have N64 1st, TB 2nd, Stu 5th, Scotty 6th and F1R#wind DSC.
I received the fastest lap, and pole position, despite starting 10th. I already clarified with Stu, I still get 2 bonus points.

So here's some visuals from our room. The pack going through the first complex for the first time. Cob and I doing battle The race long battle pack It got really close in our pack! My biggest puckering moment of the race. Had a pretty good battle with natmanscoop Till I took the "close" racing abit to far! Shame I was lacking race pace at the end. You guys were far too good on worn rubber. Whenever I got to the front of the pack, Id choke and make a silly mistake, but my laps to get to the front were pretty bloody neat. All in all, I didnt expect to be racing that far up the grid, and was probably holding you all back and in a pack throughout the race, but it sure made it interesting
Well mine are a little biased lol Its just my story, I didn't really look at all the other moments during the race. Im still learning about getting good shots, never used the photo function in GT before a couple of weeks ago, thus the poor exposure and lack of clarity. If you are going to take pics make sure you turn up the exposure. As you can see from my pics, I figured it out mid way through
I studied photography for two years at school, and learnt some basic skills that'll make your pictures look out standing. By far the most important rule in my opinion is the rule of thirds, i.e, make sure the horizon passes through the the top or bottom third of of the picture, never the middle. With experimentation, you'll be a pro with the GT6 camera in no time!
I like playing around with the shutter speed...I got a really decent one in the karrusel at the Nurb...really isolates the car in the shot
