It's time once again fellas, for another season of Origin racing. On the eve of the 1st anniversary of the first season on GT5, let's celebrate with the biggest, most intense series ever, with new features to appeal to driver of all abilities. List your state if you're willing to participate, as I am looking to expand from NSW, QLD and VIC to include SA and possibly TAS. Otherwise The Outsiders shall remain, albeit with a new colour to commemorate it's most loyal servant.
Note, the host will be garyw61, make sure you have him on your friends list before Friday's race, I don't want to have any unnecessary delays.
New Features:
New car: Toyota 86 Race Car Base Model. While the past two seasons have been fantastic, the cars weren't suited to those who couldn't tame it's power, resulting in occasionally lopsided results. The 86 is easy to learn, and easy to drive fast with. And, if the Mazda Roadster is anything to go by, we're in for one hell of dogfight. Tuning is of course, prohibited.
New tracks and race length: Due to the car's lack of power, Rome will not hold race 1 as it traditionally has previously. However, just like Series 2, the races will get longer as the series continues. Qualifying will be similar to past seasons, you get just one lap. Races will be held on a Friday night, with the race starting at 8:30pm AEST.
Points system: Season 3 ROOZ points system, including bonus points.
Race 1: Cote d'Azur (1 hour) Racing Medium, Fast wear, 2 compulsory pitstops. 5th of September
Race 2: Nürburgring Nordschleife (90 mins) Racing Hard, Normal wear, 1 compulsory pitstop. 16 Time Progression. 12/9/14
Race 3: Trial Mountain Reverse (2 hours) Double Points, Sports Medium, Fast wear, 3 compulsory pitstops. 19/9/14
New captaincy powers: Taking inspiration from the Joker system which was @Hatfield 's concept, the series will also feature a Joker feature. Captains can nominate a driver, including themselves, to have time taken off of their overall race time. Division 1 drivers cannot be nominated. The time varies from race to race. This can allow for a slower driver to move up places and score points, or a high flyer to steal a podium. Joker selection must be PM'd to me before the race, otherwise the team will not benefit from a Joker.
Race 1: 10 seconds.
Race 2: 15 seconds.
Race 3: 20 seconds.
