The Trusted Drivers Panel (TDP) is a new concept developed by the ACC Admin Team to allow all league members to have more confidence in the stewarding system and at the same time help to reduce the task load on the Admin Team.
Note: The protest procedure has changed but that is not specifically related to the creation of the TDP. Details on the new protest system will be in another thread.
THE CONCEPT
The basic concept is to have a group of trusted and respected drivers from across the PC and PS platforms as the volunteer stewards for our leagues. These drivers will have accepted a TDP nomination by league members and will then have been approved by the Admin Team. The Admin Team will still oversee the stewarding process, advise on interpreting the Rules & Regulations, apply any warnings and penalties that the TDP produces, and only do stewarding duties under rare circumstances. League members can nominate drivers who they believe have the right amount of experience, race craft, integrity and commitment to be good stewards.
NOMINATIONS
Nominations are private to remove any pressure on nominated drivers. Nominated drivers should feel no obligation to accept the nomination - it is purely a voluntary position. By accepting a nomination to the TDP a driver becomes a Steward for both PC and PS ACC league incident reviews.
The process is as follows:
- Members nominate a driver via a Private Message (PM) to members of the Admin Team (this can be either on the forum or Discord)
- We will then decide if the nominated driver meets the criteria
- If so we ask the nominee via PM if they accept or reject the TDP nomination
- If they accept the nomination we publish their name as a nominated member of the TDP in the TDP thread (this thread)
League members can only nominate drivers who:
- are not part of the Admin team for the ACC leagues
- have participated in at least 3 ACC seasons at ROOZ in the past 2 years and are currently active in some way in one of the ACC leagues
- are SILVER or PRO class drivers in our ACC Seasons
Note: Admins can also make nominations. Nominations outside the above criteria may be considered at the discretion of the Admin team
TDP MEMBERSHIP
- TDP members are volunteers and may leave the panel at any time
- TDP members will be tasked with reviewing any protested incidents in the week after the relevant league races (including special events) for both the PC and PS ACC league
- TDP members are only considered Stewards when involved in official incident reviews
- TDP members are not Admins or Moderators and have no other authority beyond the TDP remit
- TDP members should state if they will not be available for TDP tasks as soon as possible
- We hope to have enough TDP members to allow for TDP members to regularly take a week off from TDP duties
- A minimum of 3 stewards is required in order to conduct and conclude an incident review
- In the event that there are fewer than 3 TDP members for a review members of the Admin team will step in to make up the difference
- TDP discussions will take place on Discord in special channels setup by the Admins (these will be archived privately on the forum)
- TDP discussions will be private and only visible to TDP members, Mods and Admins
- TDP discussions will remain private and league drivers will not have the right to view them
- Any TDP member significantly involved in a protested incident will not take part in that review
- TDP members will not respond to questions about reviews from any league members (Mods/Admins will answer these if necessary)
- The outcomes of TDP reviews will be posted only by Mods/Admins
