Someone said it earlier careful consideration and testing of the cars and more importantly the tracks will be key. Would have thought it would be be better to pick a track that has characteristics that suits all types of cars that way each race would be interesting rather than evening the number of tracks out that suit different cars ( eg in F1 terms having monza and spa as power tracks offset by Monaco and Singapore as handling tracks) as those actual races would be predictable. Agree with Nox on Gt3 car assessment, although apparently the M3 was patched to make it more competitive not sure if anyone tried it happened after our first gt3 series, however, if we are ever go to do a non tune league the M3 would be a great car to use as it was so well balanced and drivable. Can a team have more than 2 drivers and rotate driving duties, but never more than 2 at each race? Like others I am struggling to find enough time to practice to stay competive and driving 2 out of 3 or even every second weekend has some appeal.
@Sir Nige The m3 was given wider tires inline with gt3 regulations. So it may hug the corners a little better but the little go i had of it when the patch first came out, i felt it still lacked oomph. Could definitely go a more thorough test on it to get a full conclusion on it.
Count me in. But as I've already said the format that would require the least amount of effort by the organisers as well as removing the potential of drivers pulling out mid season as they feel their car of choice is too slow while maintaining a grid with the largest variety would be to allow everyone to pick whatever GT3 car they like but once they enter a race with a particular car they can no longer use that car for the remainder of the season. Depending on when everyone uses the GT3 cars that are considered to be the fastest could lead to some unexpected drivers and/or cars on the podium.
That's actually not a bad idea. Would definitely spice races up. It does mean learning a new car everyweek though. I certainly wouldn't mind a championship set up this way.
how about 3 cars ( as even as possible) used for rounds 1-3-5 and you can only use a car once and then same for rounds 2-4-6 with 3 different cars
If you have tuning allowed most people will not have enough practice time to get used to and adjust the setup of a different car every race. Works well now because people are posting good tunes and you can always try your previous setup.
by the time this gets up and running we will have access to a solid tuning base globally most people will know where to get their favorite tunes from their favorite tuner,
If only my precious was in the game Just unveiled fully today: Corvette C7 GT3-R As a huge Corvette fan, safe to say i love it
I guess so but i meant if six different cars that need to be tuned and if team members can pick different cars in the same race it might be to difficult to get on top of it each week. Would make individual team tuners having to do way more work. Unless you bind the whole team to a car choice. Less is always best
GT3 cars are the most tuned cars in project cars. The advantage of having a new car each week is that if your struggling with a particular car around a particular track you can always change the car unlike if you were stuck with a single car for the entire season. There's this one site that has all the tunes you could ever ask for: http://projectcarssetups.eu/#/bycar It currently has 26 V12 vantage, 2 V8 Vantage, 23 R8, 15 Continental, 7 M3, 36 Z4, 7 G55, 29 12C, 10 SLS and 21 RGT-8 tunes.
