Empty Box compared the three at imola and said they weren't that different apart from fuel use and that the ac one was a bit slower, but that was explained as he wasn't running comparable grip to the other two.
his conclusion, which ever sim you prefer will be the one you like best, their all very similar.
He mentions Iracing has abs turned off so maybe it is modeled but servers run it switched off.
With the abs off in AC its very easy to lock up also.

in other news 1.13 update with the 911 rsr 787b and mx5 is dropping tonight!

(provisional) changelog for Assetto Corsa 1.13. Post will be updated.

    • New Porsche 911 RSR 2017 for Porsche Pack 3
    • New Mazda MX-5 Miata NA
    • New Mazda 787B: mod skins made for the original 787B mod will need to be updated using the new template
    • Added OpenVR/Vive support (beta)
    • Fixed Mazda MX-5 ND setup ride height false indication
    • Fixed Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV gearbox damage
    • Adjusted Lotus 72D and Ferrari 312T tyre compound wear and heat ranges
    • Fixed Flag rendering for VR
    • Fixed colour balance for emissive items (lights+digital) when Post Processing is turned off
    • Added downshift protection alert (can be disabled through the launcher options)
    • All GT2/GTE cars default to Medium tyres now (also for AI)
    • Fixed broken rendering when OCULUS mode is selected but no Oculus is actually connected
    • Added Pitstop arrows to DirectInput Dpad: bind to the wheel dPad: can be overidden by controls.ini [ADVANCED]DPAD_INDEX_OVERRIDE=0
    • Added Pitstop quickmenu + Setup pitstop strategy: this can be custumized and disabled by system/cfg/pitstop.ini [SETTINGS]USE_MOUSE_PITSTOP=0
    • Updated Fanatec library to support new wheel bases.
    • Fixed possible CPU warning when player gets retired.
    • Multiplayer features:
    • Added reversed grid races: the race session will be restarted in reversed grid order based on the standings of the previous race. Players disqualified in the first race will start from the back of the grid in the second race, regardless of their position being within the reversed grid range.
    • Added locked entry list in pickup mode: same as in booking mode, only players already included in the entry list can join the server (password not needed).
    • Added car Steam ID sharing in entry list: each car in the entry list can feature multiple GUIDs. Players can share that car (one at once). The name inserted in the entry list is used as driver name.
    • Fixed server result log not displaying invalid laps.
    • Fixed end-of-race session status for lapped players in lap races.
    • Added Mandatory Pit: a pit window can be added to the race session. As a design choice, players need to stop at their pit box within the pit window to have a valid pit stop. Players with pit boxes further down the pitlane need to take this into account before deciding on their strategy. Players may make additional pit stops before and after the pit window, but only making a mandatory stop in the indicated pit window will validate their race. Server admins must decide on a pit window that allows all players, regardless of their pit box position, to comfortably make a pit stop under normal racing conditions.
    • Updated Shared Memory

With ABS off in AC, braking is similar but the iracing car is ice-skating. Very very slippery
    Almost feels like lotus 49

Some nice updates in there server side, reverse grid, forced stops.

The pit window seems an odd issue with pit location before or after the line. You would think it could simply take note of the lap you entered the pit and if you did the required stop before exiting the pits even if that is now the next lap.

Seeing there has been a reverse grid option added maybe we can test it Monday night for the second 40 lap race. :D

I set the sprint practice server up to have race 2 as a reverse grid so it should give people some more race practice in traffic at this brutal place. Very hard to follow especially early on as over the mountain you don't have lots of pass opportunities even against slower cars. With a bigger field following there is a big concertina effect that can easily catch out those further back that likely wont see why the car ahead needs to brake more then usual due to slow traffic ahead. Even in the race if you approach a car with blue flags there may not be any safe place for them to let people past as running too wide will just cause a bigger accident trying to leave room so probably best for them to just run their normal line and let people pass on the straights.

My practice at Bathurst shows I need the ballast because at least it slows me down enough to remain in some control, take it off and I hit everything or probably my setup only works with the 40kg midget in the passenger seat or under the car where they may stuff him.

I'm certainly not the fastest guy here but yes this is how I drive the car and pretty much most in this game. Something I have learnt in real life on the track.

My race recap I was pretty happy with. I did heaps of laps practice over the last week only to find out on Monday before the race that I wasn't getting full throttle thanks to tovey I fixed it and times dropped another half a second. I still didn't have the pace of Cherno, Marty and Shaun.. Race 1 was ok, rubbish start and tried to keep it clean. Once again I have to apologise to guys my G29 will sometimes shift gears up on its own merit and then sometimes wont let me shift down so i do brake a smidge early to stop me running off the track. Race 2 ok start, Shauno epic pass on the outside into t1 and then couldnt keep a rhythm following him and he walked away. Marty and I had a good dice, tried a van giz move and then tried to redress but it was slow because my G29 decided third gear would be better than 2nd. I was pretty much staying with you but made a stupid mistake and threw it away, letting raptor through and onto my podium spot haha. Nice job man. Was in the zone on the last few laps running quick times low low 46's and on last lap was showing a PB but again mucked up a corner.

Will be in Tassie for work Sunday-Thursday so unfortunately not going to make the bathurst enduro! Spewing!! Good luck everyone on Monday and really looking forward to next season though.

to download from AC forum you need to sync your Steam account with your AC forum account under external profiles or something.

Honestly mate I don't recommend the no prac approach. Bathurst will be challenging enough with practice. Being mostly tightly walled there's not really anywhere for you to go but into the path of others when you stuff up, and you will, which isn't really doing the right thing by the rest of us putting in the prac.

Aside from that we are using the ACU version of bathurst from the RD link Rolz posted. There is no extra pit boxes mod needed (already 36) and the ones linked to the AC forums are for Kunos tracks only anyway. Look forward to seeing you on the black!

I'll still be able to get 3 odd hours under my belt before the race, and having just done some laps just then around the Nordschelife i already feel competent with the game. That said, if you don't want me to race i will respect your wish, however i have been at ROOZ for 12 seasons and have won races on the site around Bathurst in Division 1, so it's not like this would be my first rodeo. I'll leave it to you, i'm ok with either

Oh nah that's all good mate so long as you are doing some prac get in amonst it. I thought you meant you would be coming in cold on the day. But do some prac on the actual track too. It's probably different to the Bathurst you will he familiar with.

Should be a decent turnout on the prac server tonight come swap some paint!
