[Completed] - RACEONOZ Grand Prix de Monaco - Winner: Seth123

I had some good battles and reasonable pace, but made a few too many silly mistakes causing the loss of front wings. Glad to have finished and to stay on the lead lap at least.

Looking forward to Canada, another long race but the track should be less taxing.

I've gotta admit that was an interesting initiation to racing with everyone, thanks to all. Just to finish this race was an achievement considering how hard it was and the focus required was pretty intense, although I did technically finish last I concentrated on consistency especially after losing 3 wings and 3 punctures early on in the race. Not sure if my setup was wrong but it felt like I had minimal grip the whole race and couldn't get anywhere near my average lap times of around 1:15 as I normal do.
Anyway, congrats to those who finished, esp to the podium guys - great job - you earned it.
See you next week for a more relaxed evening of cruising around.

I think any points scored by an AI should certainly be discounted, no doubt about it.. But if the driver DNF's on merit i think they should still be eligible for points if they were inside the ten. Afterall, we still pay points for Dsc's throughout ROOZ do we not?

Edit: I can certainly see others POV's now. Whilst i still think points should be awarded, (And i believe they have already in the season for a dnf at some stage?) i won't mind if its no points awarded.

My race report

Qualifying: P7 - I had made some changes to my setup prior to the race to tame it a little bit, and cope better in the event of rain, so my single lap pace wasn’t as good as it could have been and I was probably 0.5s off where I'd hoped to be, but I knew the race wouldn’t be decided in qualifying so I wasn’t too unhappy.

Race: P9 (DNF - Crash Lap 57) - I had a decent start and was running as high as P3/4 in the first stint, before tagging the left hand barrier at the Nouvelle Chicane on lap 12 and damaging my front wing. I dived straight into the pits, switching to SS for a longer than planned middle stint. I decided not to pit at the safety car, even though taking another set of SS might have got me to the end - I was banking on another SC late in the race as people got tired. I pitted on about Lap 50 from P2 for US for the run home. The car came alive in the last stint, as the fuel load was decreasing, and I was in a good groove, but pushing pretty hard so that I could capitalise on the front runners tyre deg, late stops or a late SC. I'd closed the gap from P5 to P4 from 13 secs to 4 secs and was in a good place, then I tagged the wall on the apex of Casino pushing a bit too hard, which put me into the wall on the left - it was terminal… I was hoping for a late SC, but little did I know it would be for me…

Disappointed to not to have finished, but that’s racing. It was still an epic race and I really enjoyed it.

see i think the opposite. If i put it into a wall i dont expect points. if i DSC though then possibly points for that.

We shall wait and see what is decided, but yeah thats my opinion.

According to the FIA F1 sporting regs only finishers get points

i Lost my front wheel coming too hot out of swimmng pool. went to agressive in, bounced on the curb, and it pointed me into the wall.

Had a puncture on the right rear so definitely had to stop. Then it happened again around lap 65 and this time sent me barreling into the wall and it was game over. So many errors.

Lap 6 I clipped the barrier while in the lead on the second last corner which spun me out. Switched to softs around lap 10 to do a 1stopper. Was going well and making some ballsy moves cutting my way back through the pack, then the safety car came out and top 4 pitted giving me the lead, then the puncture so pitted for some SS, got caught out by Samsung's braking into the chicane and lost my front wing, pitted and out on some fresh US tyres, cutting through the pack again and we got the safety car at the end. Was smiling like a Cheshire Cat thinking I had this and then the puncture on lap 65 which sent me into the wall. Just too many errors around Monaco but hey was still glad to get as far as I did and man it was a fun race.

Could be worse. You could get none of the corners named after you.

Where did everyone else crash?

That wasn't his DNF was it? That was just his qualy crash for fun?

Maybe Jono can be Casino apex and CAGM Casino exit which was where I saw him planted before he retired

I took Crunch for a spin at the chicane after the tunnel, so perhaps the Crunch Chicane?
