1. QUALIFYING (5mins)
LIGHTS ON WHEN YOU ARE ON A HOT LAP. This is for us drivers & for DEMO1GARAGE so he knows who’s on a hot lap for the broadcast. Have a button mapped for your lights. If you are NOT on a hot lap, please make sure you stay out of the way of drivers who are. Because it’s only a 5 minute quali session for our sprint races, everyone will be on it in order to get the temperatures up & to post a decent time. You are not expected to jump out of the way if you are on a hot lap, it is up to the faster driver to either get past safely or to back off to create room for the next lap.
2. RACE
TURN 1 LAP 1: Round 1 is generally the most common where we see contact issues, particularly if we have drivers who haven't done a lot of practice. If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb into the mid pack. Give room on both sides till you get through turns 1/2 & for the big stop into the turn 3 hairpin.
TRACK LIMITS: Track limits will remain as they always have, you must have 2 wheels ON or INSIDE the ripple strips AT ALL TIMES. Make a mistake or 2 and that's OK, but making CLEAR advantage from cutting the track will see you penalised. If you do it consistently, you may even be DSQ from the race.
There are a few places here where you need to remain inside track limits:
- The main one here is DEFINITELY turn 1 where it’s easy to run left of the track.
- Run off areas, again on the left of track at turns 8 and 11.
Drivers 'INTENTIONALLY' running wide for advantage will be penalised.
CONTACT: To be avoided at all times! Damage is ON so looking after the car is the priority. If you have to pit for damage, you stand no chance of being on the podium.
If you do rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side, ‘rubbing is racing’, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
IF YOU LEAVE THE TRACK FOR ANY REASON, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO REJOIN THE TRACK SAFELY GIVING THOSE COMING PAST THE RIGHT TO THE NORMAL RACING LINE.
CAR RESETS: You are allowed to reset your car IF you are on your roof, or stuck on a barrier. YOU MUST RESET WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO. If you reset in the path of oncoming traffic and cause an accident, you will be penalised. Remember, it will reset you to the middle of the track, so oncoming cars cannot avoid you. It’s tough to watch other guys coming past but please don’t ruin someone else’s race.
ROOM DISCONNECTS: If you disconnect from the quali room, you may get back in OR the room captain/host may agree to restart the room if you can’t get back in. If you disconnect during the race it will be considered a mechanical failure & no points will be awarded. You must finish the race to score points. The points scoring system is in the OP on the website. All results will be posted online.
STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS: The stewards group will consist of Grand High Marshall Stu & room captains V8 & TB. If you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race. You will also need to have video evidence of your protest, or ask the room host to have a look on their replay. We’ve never had any issues in the past 2 years of this endurance series & we don’t expect to, hard but clean racing is the RACEONOZ way so let’s get on with it & put on a great show for our audience.
SAVE YOUR REPLAY: If the room host can please ask all drivers to save their replay before exiting to the lobby. Footage from the broadcast will be available on the DEMO1GARAGE YouTube channel &/or TwitchTV.
BLUE FLAGS: Please observe blue flags and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Drive as normal ON THE RACING LINE until a straight & then lift off the throttle to let the faster car pass. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty.
