I was really looking forward this season and this round in particular. The MNG was good for me as I had some pace and consistency that I have been missing for a while. I worked on getting my head around this under steering beast which I find similar to last seasons car only more. The MNG was plagued with a lot of chaos which I managed to avoid mostly but I read it as the races were going to be closely fought. I practiced a bit for this round and improved my pace and consistency. Qually didn't go well and I was 9th on the grid but looking forward to some good racing, I got good close racing for most of the first lap and had moved up a couple places but at the final corner I was pushed sideways into a spin even though I entered the corner clear. The result was chaos that affected a number of drivers unfairly. I got going again in last place despite nearly pulling the plug and set about chasing. I caught blunty and had a couple of laps of close racing until a little error from him let me through at the chicane. I then started closing on Ozglenn who had been disadvantaged in the lap one mess and closed right up to him at turn 10 on lap 6. He unfortunately got oversteer and was headed left so I went right to miss him, he over corrected and speared right and collected me in the left front sending on an off track excursion towards the exit of turn 11. I bounced back onto the track unfortunately directly into the path of Oz and blunty and was punted off into the sand and last place again. I was fed up with close racing by this stage and trickled back to the pits to wait for the finish as I wanted to save the replay. I came out later just to do a few laps on my own to see if I could get close to my PB but it wasn't to be. I saw that they were looking for space to put savage into div 2 so have done a swap. I figure if I'm going to be running last I may as well be in div 1b.
a difficult night by the sounds, lots of things didn't go your way and this would be unlikely to repeat. close racing would have to be better than driving around by yourself?
Very unfortunate for a few drivers. Was looking forward to battles this season with you. Next time - all the best in 1B Emmo
I am new to this, but what I see is that this will be a sprint round therefore no tyre change required and it will be 2 races of 16? If so what is the delay between sprints? Just to get an idea of how much recovery from any VR sickness or I swap to the screen. Thanks in advance
Welcome to the group Savage. Generally time for a toilet break and refill the hydration glass. See ya out there
This week my accelerator pedal wont be blipping (Typical Logitech) - So im hoping for a somewhat better result Also so long as Peersy keeps his nose off my bumper
Round 2: 30/07 - Deep Forest Raceway Sprint Round - 2x 16 Laps - Early Morning / Afternoon - 5x WELCOME to Season 6 for Gran Turismo 7!! As always please take a couple minutes to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night. If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask! ROOM OPEN: Room captains may have practice rooms open beforehand but should have the official room up by 7:30pm AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread know if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them. SIGHT ISSUES: Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again. Type the number of cars you can see in the lobby chat and cross check with other drivers to ensure clarity. QUALIFYING : 8pm AEST for 10 mins. Feel free to run practice laps prior to qualifying, The host will trigger a 'Room Reset' closer to the commencement of Qualifying. PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING RACE START TIME : 8:15pm AEST & Approx 8:45pm AEST LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS: This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I would suggest only having 1 restart if required due to DSC, due to having to set up the room from scratch and also having to set timed laps in order to set the grid. Please be as reasonable as you can with this.... TURN 1 LAP 1: The old saying goes, you can’t win the race on lap 1, but you can definitely lose it. Please be mindful of other drivers on lap 1 coming into turn 1, and for that matter, the entire race. It can be very demoralizing to hot lap on your own for 45 minutes as I'm sure many of you are aware. TRACK LIMITS: As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage, position or time wise. Track Limits protests may be launched by any active driver in the race. Track Limits will be monitored generally around the entire circuit, with a keen focus tonight on overtakes completed OUTSIDE TRACK LIMITS. Track Limits will still be defined as two wheels on the kerb, or white line, whichever is furthest out. The exit of Turn 10 is free game. CONTACT: Is to be avoided at all times..... If you make contact with someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Occasionally, Gran Turismo track limits may teleport a disadvantaged driver backwards on circuit to ‘reset’ them, if this occurs at the hand of another driver, IT IS EXPECTED that the driver at fault will wait and redress the position. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing is allowed and promoted within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room. For clarity surrounding racing room, please feel free to PM @Viperzed Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass. So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers. If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track. PIT ENTRY/EXIT LINES: Pit Line Penalties are ON so you will be penalised in game if you cut any part of the entry or exit lines. Be mindful entering the pits that the lines are tight and the chicane in entry can be very misleading. You may receive a penalty for overstepping the mark on entry. On pit exit, cars exiting the lane are to stay drivers left if they are rejoining in traffic. BLUE FLAGS: Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS: This season, the Head Steward will be @Viperzed. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM. DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards may ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captains to make any decision. SAVE YOUR REPLAY: If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved! PARKING UP: If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car. Quitting off track results in a sometimes race ending lag spike and may be punished in extreme scenarios. ATTENDANCE: Could all drivers please inform Room Captains or make a post on the division thread if they do not intend on racing on Sunday night, Room Captains/ Lobby Hosts are advised not to wait for anyone who has not communicated their intentions. If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race. TRACK SPECIFIC - Deep Forest Deep Forest is a Gran Turismo classic currently built with a modern GT7 twist. It is a community favourite which often produces stellar racing. Remember that Turn 10 can be fully extended, the hairpin may be looked at for extensions on exit. There is NO MANDATORY PIT STOP OR TIRE CHANGE for this round. As this is the sprint round, you are free to run whichever tire you like for as long as you like, without needing to pit. Keep an eye on the fuel gauge!

Well, this was how each round started for me unfortunately. More or less starting last place in the end. Managed to climb back up to 7th for R1 and 6th for R2 which I was happy with but quite disappointed that I could be wrecked T1 Lap 1 on both rounds.
It was a horrible first lap, both races. Not something to be happy with at all. Apologies to those that I may have made things worse. wrong spot wrong time unfortunately. Race 2, T1 - not sure what happened @T-GT_Racing , will need to check. Sorry End of lap 1 there seemed to be a big hold up from like P4-P12 and we kinda made it though then a few started to loop it, me included and myself & @T F Eccles got caught in the mess. Sorry mate
Reverse grids always get messy. Was very fortunate to have dodged the carnage. Race 1 i lost position off the start, i guess i just spun the wheels too hard but ill need to perfect that before Spa. Doodah had the lead and we made a few exchanges for 1st as the race progressed. I found i was managing fuel alot, playing with the mode in different parts of the track and slowly fell back from Doodah in the final laps as i saved fuel. I later discovered shorter shifts were a much more efficient fuel saving technique and could run fuel level 1 all race 2. A p2 and p2 is a good days work. Would have liked to convert the pole but some great drivers showing form and deserving wins. See u at Spa
I don't think it was on you mate, so don't stress, same as Glenn R1. It was just a very messy T1 both rounds where I think there was some over-eagerness from the back half.
