Haven't had a chance yet to jump on and give these a fling, but I like the sound of the Caterham. Dunno if I like anything too grippy, seem to struggle with cars like that, fast or otherwise. Gotta try and get on tonight maybe.
I have had a go with all the cars now i think they are all good options. i was finding that at the end of braking zones in the lmp900 and the lmp3 cars that its very easy to lose the rear end if still hard on the brakes but other than a slight adjustment to my driving style or brake bias i found them good. either of the 3 options will be good i think in order or preference for me it is lmp900 lmp3 caterham
Im torn TBH.... im no clearer on it than i was 2 weeks ago ! have daughters birthday party tonight so not sure if ill get on or not for testing...
I see now why the Audi LMP900 is so popular, that's a seriously forgiving, nice driving car! Big soft round edges to the handling, no surprises, I threw it sideways at a corner under brakes last night and just gathered it up no fuss & drove out the other side! I tried the BMW V12 LMR for comparison and it was fast, but chalk & cheese, very brittle front end that would snap into understeer if treated wrong, made the Audi look like an absolute cakewalk! Hmmmm spoilt for choice.
Yeah that's the thing about the Audi, it's seriously quick but seriously stable. You can really throw it around corners and drive it on the limit.
ok guys, we are going to run with the Caterham SP300. There were about 4 different cars in the frame, but i think that this will be the best fit for all divs, and with the Push to pass button it will make for some great racing. Works well in the wet, and gives good racing.... Will start to get the rest of the stuff sorted this week before meet and greet
Nice, can't complain about that decision. I wasn't a fan at first but once some little things were sorted out it's a fun car.
noice. with the right track temp sorted, this car was a lot of fun. and anything that adds a little strategic element is welcomed
It's SOOO toey on-throttle! I fixed it with a couple of setup tweaks last night, mainly opening up the Diff, making it a really sweet handler. Tightened up the gear ratios too do 6th gear is actually usable. Can we run setups? Please? Just this once?! Pleeeeeeaaassse?! (And I know the answer )
The corner exit looseness can be mitigated with a warmer track temp (40° - 65°), we'll be fine on the stock setup
