Well, I'm shocked to see myself up in the podium this week I'll tell you that much for free. I didn't have a whole heap of time to practice throughout the week with other racing commitments, and a boozy night on Friday catching up with some mates pretty much knocked out my Saturday night planed practice.
So really only proper practice before the big night, and when I was pulling between 2:12-13’s I thought I had no chance. Then qualifying in 9th, I was only hoping to get a top 10 in the end. Lucky for me, but very unlucky for the ones ahead, there were a few accidents that helped me up the field. On a good note though, they didn’t seem to have happened by a dive or anything, rather an unstuck tyre and such.
Special mention to
@kiwinado for our epic battle for quite a few laps in the last stint there, it certainly kept me on my toes, and the heart pounding (I hope to see myself featured in your highlight video heavily hahaha). I have been quite good on fuel throughout the season, and had planned it to have no fuel on the last stop - and when I went in and had 1.3 laps left, I was pretty confident.
@UrsineSaturn9 , well what more can be said, Pole position, and very quick consistent times, you owned it. Well done good sir. And
@Max Gassit , I honestly was surprised seeing you up there at the end! Well done to you also! Very good strategy that panned out well for ya.
I feel for ya
@Matthyus , it certainly hasn’t been your season, and you’ve been pulling very quick times throughout… Hopefully the next race will set you right at Laguna!
Cheers all for a great night of racing, and the typical fun banter on track. Catch you all through the week I’m sure.
