OK, here we go for our 16th season in PCARS2 ! Lets hope its an enjoyable one.

I hope you would have seen that SELBY is our season sponsor, and they have offered a fantastic speaker pack at us to the value of $1699 RRP. Details here - http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.ph...going-with-new-prizes.2855/page-2#post-229990

Welcome to all our new drivers, and welcome back to those who raced last season or are returning.
This first briefing is always a little longer than the following rounds. PLEASE make sure you read and understand the general rules that are generic to every race. IE - Track limits / contact / rough driving / abuse etc.

Just some general info after a few weeks of testing in these cars.
    - This is a car that encourages 'pack racing'. That means you will have to have your proximity markers on so you know when and where you have cars around you.
    - There is decent draft, so if someone makes a pass, let them go and use the draft to continue the fight. Has been noticeable that cars battling ahead are relatively easy to catch back up to, so there 'should' be some great racing if everyone gives room.

    - I have found i need to use ABS on LOW to stop the front wheels from locking under braking. You should be able to map a button for this, however if you cant map anything, make sure you have ABS on low in the game options. This can be adjusted when in a online lobby.
    - Tire wear is definitely a thing on the front. Make sure you test if you will need to take tires or not in your pit stop.
    - Some tracks the fronts do get hot (over 110*) however there is still plenty of grip.
    - Fuel. This thing runs on the smell of an oily rag ! Make sure in your pit stops you don't have any added.

For our new drivers, this is where all the race info will be, if you have any questions, just reply below or send me a PM.

TRACK LIMITS - RACEONOZ uses the curbs to define track limits. If you have wheel on the curb or white line (which defines the track edge) then you are all good. If you run outside of these boundaries with intent to make time, make a pass or make the track shorter, you will be penalized. For 'lazy' track limit breaches we generally look at a 25 second penalty, however for deliberate breaches the penalty could be increased.

CONTACT - Very simply, dont crash into the guy ahead of you and then drive off ! If you make contact (front to rear) and you push another driver off track, you are expected to redress. If you think its a 50/50 call while making a pass then save your replay and pass the info onto the room captain, or mod team (me or Ad2mny) and we will have a look at it. PLEASE dont blow up in the room chat or on the forum. We have found incidents in the past that have looked very different for both drivers.

ABUSE - Abusing other drivers over the mic, in race rooms, in chats on PSN or a forum PM is NOT ALLOWED. If there is an incident on track, you are required to go through the right channels of protest so the stewards group or mod team can look at any incident. We have already banned a few drivers in the past for abuse, and these drivers have not been welcomed back.

ONLINE BANTER - Just a reminder to everyone to be aware of who is in your chat room and what might be appropriate. We do have some younger drivers, and also ladies in the series. ALSO a reminder that those NOT in the chat can still hear you through their TV speakers. That means that people in 'their' homes can hear everything that is being said if there is banter in the game chat. If you have a group of people that want to be a little more 'loose' (for want of a better term) then i would suggest a private chat.

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Round 1 is always a bit of a hot round, and lap 1 round here can be messy if drivers don't use your heads. The run off the start line is tight, so stay in your lane until turn 3, where everyone should be single file for the run over the top of the hill for the first time..
TURN 1 - Dont run up the arse of the car in front and drive off !
TURN 3 - is very easy to either run wide off the inside curb, or miss the apex and run wide onto the ripple strip and spin.
TURN 7 onwards - Is like a rollercoaster so there are spots where the curbs will unsettle cars and cost time. Again, if someone gets a run, you are better off giving up the spot and continuing the battle on the next lap.

TURN 10 EXIT - So in our meet and greet this was where the biggest accidents were ! The curb on exit (left side) can grab the car and put you into a spin where you hit the right side wall and it spits you back into oncoming traffic. We go into the race knowing this might happen, so if it does, don't blow up !
TURN 11 HAIRPIN - Classic place for a bump and run.... Don't do it ! If you hit someone up the arse give the spot back !

TRACK LIMITS - Only spot for a 'cheat cut' is really the space between turns 10 and 12 and cutting the hairpin. You MUST make an attempt to drive around turn 11 after an accident. Drivers cutting and taking advantage will be penalized. If you see someone doing this, SAVE YOUR REPLAY and let the stewards know ASAP so we can rule on it. A mistake or 2 is ok, doing it repeatedly is not.

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tires, but may do so if you wish.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT -

ENTRY - Is pretty straight forward, but there have been lots of guys getting pinged for speeding past the control line. You can see the yellow line on the map, so you know where you have to be at 60k... if there are guys in front of you in the lane at the same time, don't hit them into a penalty. If you do, you will have a penalty of you own added to your time.
EXIT - The exit here is pretty straight forward. Cars on track have right of way on the exit of turn 1, however the car on the LEFT has right of way on the entry to turn 2 IF they are up to race speed. Stay in the pit exit lane till you know you are clear to turn in to turns 2 and 3.

PROTESTS - As always, save your replay, and if there is an issue PLEASE let the mod team know. DO NOT blow up in the forum or on the mic after the race. You have until midnight Monday night to make us aware of your protest. Please remember that we have a hard stance on any abuse, so please do the right thing if you feel something needs to be looked at.

For our new drivers, this is where all the race info will be, if you have any questions, just reply below or send me a PM.

Hope we have a great season, and remember race clean and fair !

Hi max, no damage is off mate. I normally run 'visual damage' which has no effect on car performance.
We dont use the in game track limits system because there were too many cases of drivers being pushed into a penalty not of their doing. there were also cases of one car getting pinged and not another for doing the same thing. So for that reason we use our own track limits which is 2 wheel on the ripple strip or white line. If there is someone outside of those rules on a regular basis they are protested against and we have a look and generally apply a time penalty

    Round 2. Sugo - 30 laps - 27/6/2021

    2pm qual - Overcast
3pm race start - Overcast / Med Cloud / Clear / Light Cloud
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES
    - Fuel : Real
    - TYRE WEAR : ACCELERATED
    - Weather progression : Sync to race

Ok all, on to round 2 at Sugo.
    Notes from Round 1 -

    - Well done everyone for clean driving. No Protests to report, And we didn't hear of any incidents of ordinary driving. Hopefully that continues. Remember if someone is driving and warrants our attention PLEASE let us know.
    - Car resets - I didnt have this set in the last briefing, but a reminder that you can
ONLY reset your car if you are ON YOUR ROOF or STUCK ON A BARRIER. From round 2 there ill be a 5 sec penalty applied to any drivers who reset without cause, and a higher penalty for anyone that resets into traffic or more than once.
    - Hear a few instances of drivers getting their pit strat wrong, costing them time.... If you need help with this please let me know so we can check you have it right.

    - Thanks to @Bounty05 Race results and ladders are found here - http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/season-16-championship-tables-results.4533/

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Is a small but flowing track in these cars, so passing will be tough, but the "racing' should be great....
TURN 1 - Dont run up the arse of the car in front and drive off ! The draft out of the last turn and down the main straight is a thing, so if someone gets a run, give them room.
TURN 4 CHICANE - If side by side the car on the left has right of way.... But both cars can get through there sideways..... Give room and try to hit the curbs straight....

HORSEBACK CORNER - Is a passing spot, so please give room and fight back down the main straight in the draft !
EXIT SP -OUT - Is the last corner before the long right onto the main straight.... Is easy to run wide where either the curb or the sand will catch your car. Be aware of those around you.

TRACK LIMITS - Is pretty good a self regulating here given the grass and sand, only spot really is running wide in turn 1, and re-joining the track.... cars that stay on the track have right of way, so any contact from a car returning to the race line might incur a penalty.

EXIT - The exit here is pretty tight. Cars on track have right of way on the exit of turn 1, however the car on the LEFT has right of way on the entry to turn 3 IF they are up to race speed. Stay in the pit exit lane till you know you are clear to turn in to turn 3. CARS REMAINING IN THE PIT EXIT LINE ON PIT EXIT MUST BE GIVEN ROOM ON THE EXIT OF 3 IF YOU ARE SIDE BY SIDE. Driving them off track WILL result in a penalty if there is a protest lodged.

PROTESTS - As always, save your replay, and if there is an issue PLEASE let the mod team know. DO NOT blow up in the forum or on the mic after the race. On to Round 3 !
Some great racing last week guys and gals....
    - We did have 1 protest, just a reminder to redress if you make contact with the rear of another car and gain advantage.
    - This week is the twilight race... make sure you have a lights button mapped !

    - Car resets - A reminder that you can ONLY reset your car if you are ON YOUR ROOF or STUCK ON A BARRIER. From round 2 there ill be a 5 sec penalty applied to any drivers who reset without cause, and a higher penalty for anyone that resets into traffic or more than once.

TURN 1 - Dont run up the arse of the car in front and drive off ! The draft out of the last turn and down the main straight is a thing, so if someone gets a run, give them room.
CORKSCREW - The entry to the corkscrew is tough for a number of reasons.... Its blind, and if you are in a pack of cars, riding the curbs is dangerous. Make sure you redress here if you screw it up !
TURN 11 - Entry onto the front straight... Is a decent braking zone, so easy to brake a little late and collect the car in front...

    TRACK LIMITS
    - Is pretty good a self regulating here given the grass and sand. Only real spot to be careful of is the entry to TURN 6. People cutting here may receive a time penalty

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tires, but may do so if you wish.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT -

ENTRY - Is a little tight, so you will have to be slowed enough before the control line to turn left into the lane. Make sure you are looking to see if you are the first pit bay...its easy to miss ! if there are guys in front of you in the lane at the same time, don't hit them into a penalty. If you do, you will have a penalty of you own added to your time.
EXIT - The exit here is pretty tight. You MUST use the full pit exit to return to the track. Drivers not suing the full lane (returning to the track before turn 1) WILL receive a 25 sec penalty.

PROTESTS - As always, save your replay, and if there is an issue PLEASE let the mod team know. DO NOT blow up in the forum or on the mic after the race. Round 4. Dubai International (2 x sprint Races) - 11/7/2021
    2pm qual - Med Cloud
    Race 1 - 14 laps - 3pm Race Start - Light cloud / Medium Cloud
    Race 2 - 15 laps (1 x formation) - 4pm Race Start - Heavy Cloud / Light Cloud
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - NO
    - Fuel : Real
    - TYRE WEAR : ACCELERATED
    - Weather progression : Sync to race

Ok guys and Gals..... Time for the sprint round, for our new drivers, 2 races, with the 2nd race is a full reverse grid.
Given how close the cars are in terms of performance, should give some close and exciting racing.
Details of how the sprint round works will be detailed below.

Points from last weeks first round.

    - We had 2 queries on track limit breaches after last weeks round, happy to say both drivers were cleared.
Just wanted to say well done to everyone for racing (it would seem) really clean.

    - Check out the driver ladders thanks to @Bounty05 here
    http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/season-16-championship-tables-results.4533/

    - Check out your driver stats for race times here thanks to @Anthonyb

    http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/s16-time-comparisons.4537/

    - DISCONNECTS .... These are the general rules we follow..

QUAL DISCONNECT - If you get disconnected in qual BEFORE the 3 minute mark you should be able to get back in the room. You then have 3 mins (or about that) to try set a lap. If you get DSC AFTER 3 mins, the room host will finish Qual, and record the final positions. Then a new room will be set up for a rolling start, with drivers to line up in order of qualifying, the DSC driver to line up last. (if drivers agree, the DSC driver may line up in qual spot of they set a time before the DSC)
RACE DISCONNECT - If a driver DSC in the first 2 laps, the room should be restarted once, with a rolling start in Qual order.... 1 lap is to be added to the race distance. Given we have drivers from NZ, please be aware that any more than 1 restart will make things too late for them, and others to have more than 1 restart.

TRACK LIMITS - RACEONOZ uses the curbs to define track limits. If you have wheel on the curb or white line (which defines the track edge) then you are all good. If you run outside of these boundaries with intent to make time, make a pass or make the track shorter, you will be penalised. For 'lazy' track limit breaches we generally look at a 25 second penalty, however for deliberate breaches the penalty could be increased.

    CONTACT
    - Very simply, dont crash into the guy ahead of you and then drive off ! If you make contact (front to rear) and you push another driver off track, you are expected to redress. If you think its a 50/50 call while making a pass then save your replay and pass the info onto the room captain, or mod team (me or Ad2mny) and we will have a look at it. PLEASE don't blow up in the room chat or on the forum. We have found incidents in the past that have looked very different for both drivers.

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Is a fast and flowing track, Obviously turn 1 with the heavy braking is a hot spot after such a long main straight. Be prepared to bail to the right or left if you look like you are about to take another driver out. Also the turn 5 hairpin be careful under brakes..is heaps of room to bail if needed

    TRACK LIMITS -

Is a lot of spots here where drivers can abuse track limits. Ill ask everyone to be aware of this and if you see someone doing it to deliberately gain advantage please let us know.
    - TURN 3-4 - must remain on ripple strips.
    - TURN 7 EXIT - Is easy to run wide, to the left of the ripple strip.
    - TURN 10 and 11 EXIT - must not run wide over ripple strip.

Drivers continually cutting and taking advantage will be penalised. If you see someone doing this, SAVE YOUR REPLAY and let the stewards know ASAP so we can rule on it. A mistake or 2 is ok, doing it repeatedly is not.

    SPRINT ROUND FORMAT

    - QUALIFYING - Usual 10 minute format
    - RACE 1 - Drivers will race in qualifying order, normal race start, NO PIT STOP and first past the post wins (pending any possible protests)
    - RACE 2 - There will be 1 lap added to the race length (NOW 15 LAPS) and the host will start the race. Drivers will use the first lap as a way of getting all drivers in reverse grid, from the first race. Once drivers are in in reverse order, the lead driver will lead the field around the lap in SINGLE FILE.

    - FROM TURN 9, the lead driver will slow to 100KLM, and the race will START on the exit of TURN 11. This is the easiest way to stop carnage at turn 1, and get everyone through lap 1 cleanly. NO PASSING until the start finish line.

    - POINTS - 1 point for pole / 1 point fastest lap / full points race 1, 1/2 points race 2
Points are combined from races 1 and 2 to find the overall winner, and then round points are allocated as normal based on those combined points. In the event of equal points, the driver who had the higher finishing position in race 1 will finish higher overall.

Compulsory pit stop - N/A for the sprint round.

Up to Round 4 already..... Time flies.
    - Some great racing last week guys and again no protests. Well done. I would hope the driving standars are that good, last weeks race in div 1 did have a little contact at certain spots, but overall was awesome racing.
    - This week is the wet race / changing to dry. Make sure you have your pit strat set up for when you want to make your stop.
    - NOTE the change in weather for the qual session. wet to dry.

    TRACK HOT SPOTS -

TURN 1 - Is always a tough spot on the track. Dont hit the driver in front into the sand runoff on the left.
TURN 2 (Druids) - Easy to run up the arse of someone here.
FINAL TURN (Clark Curve) - If you get a good run out of
Stirling's you can make a pass here, but make sure you are not going to divebomb to make the pass.
OVERALL, its actually a fast track, so if you make a mistake and someone gets a run on you make sure you give room.

TRACK LIMITS - Is pretty good a self regulating here given the grass and sand. EXIT of Graham Hill Bend and Surtees make sure you stay on the ripple strips

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tires, but may do so if you wish.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT -

ENTRY - Is a little tight, so you will have to be slowed enough before the control line to turn right into the lane.
EXIT - The exit here is VERY tight. Drivers exiting are responsible for avoiding cars on a race lap, likewise, drivers on a race lap are responsible for avoiding cars exiting the pits and are within the pit exit lines. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR MAP WHEN EXITING TO AVOID ANY CONTACT !

    Round 6. COTA National - 26 laps - 25/7/2021
    2pm qual - Light Cloud
3pm race start - Medium Cloud / Light Cloud / Clear / Light Cloud
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES
    - Fuel : Real
    - TYRE WEAR : ACCELERATED
    - Weather progression : Sync to race

Round 5.. tough track with a killer first sector !
    - Some great racing last week guys and again no protests. Well done. If you are NOT racing please let your div know. Shame to just have 8 cars on the grid in Div 1.
    - This week the tyres get smashed on the fronts.... They get hot but wear is ok..

CONTACT - Very simply, don't crash into the guy ahead of you and then drive off !

    TRACK HOT SPOTS -

Turn 1 - is obviously fast up the hill so use the white line across the road as a reference. You should be braking on or just before that line.
    - the 'rollercoaster' in the first sector, down the hill out of T1 and the 4 or 5 direction changes ... watch for cars to get out of shape on the ripple strips. Drivers running through and missing the track should redress to anyone attacking behind.

TRACK LIMITS - EVERYWHERE !!! This track is a new age F1 track so there is run off everywhere. Make sure you stay within track limits, im asking people to watch for anyone abusing track limits.

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tires, but may do so if you wish.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT -

ENTRY - Looks much faster than it actually is ! Make sure you slow down enough so you dont run wide to the right and miss the entry or worse still, hit the wall. .
EXIT - The exit here is straight forward. Cars exiting the pits should stay in the exit lane until the entry to Turn 1.

    Round 7. Sakitto GP - Enduro - 44 laps - 1/8/2021
    6pm qual - Med Cloud
7pm race start - Heavy Cloud / Light Cloud / Clear / Med Cloud
    - Time progression - X15
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES
    - Fuel : Real
    - TYRE WEAR : ACCELERATED
    - Weather progression : Sync to race

    Enduro Time !
First off can i say this season has flown by and Thank you to all the drivers that have shown up each week for some great racing. Real shame to have smaller grids in div 1, but will be looking at that for next season. Also thanks for making this season so easy in terms of driving standards, i hope its a reflection on the quality we have always strived to have here on ROOZ, albeit with smaller numbers than we have had in the past.
    - good luck to all drivers who are fighting for a championship.
    - Thanks to all the people who have helped with running things, ie collecting results, looking at replays when required, hosting rooms, chasing drivers @Bounty05 for his awesome work on the tables and @Anthonyb for his race stats
    - Ill set up an entry thread for season 17 in the next few days. I reckon we can run with 2 divs again.

So onto the enduro.... Is always a tough race, with a 24hr time cycle.... Racing through the night is always a challenge !
I wont bore you with the normal long briefing...

    - Track limits....the main spot is the left hander on the back straight. Dont run wide to the left of the ripple strip consistently !
    - Turn 1 - is easy to run wide, not really any time in it, but easy to make a mistake and cause issues for other drivers. Everywhere else is fairly self regulating so shouldnt be any issues.

    - PIT ENTRY / EXIT. This is the tough one.... The pit entry is a SHOCKER ! Make sure you practice a few times so you know where it is and where the control line is. The EXIT is fine, just be aware of other cars as you return to the track, you all know the regs for this.

FUEL - You will need to take fuel in this race. From memory its about 12L to add, but ill check tonight and let everyone know if its different.
TYRES - good luck getting through on one set !

    ROOM CAPTAINS - @Anthonyb @anne @Ad2mny couple of things
    - Perhaps turn off visual damage so lights continue to work if someone hits the wall or has an accident
    - We will check to see room sizes to work out if a merge is needed to fill up the room.
    - Earlier start times are possible if all are in the room early. We can attack that in the PSN chats. Perhaps a 7:50 qual, and 8 race start ???

Anything else ive missed or if you have a question then let me know
    Stu
