All driver briefings will be posted here.

Given all drivers are up with the rules and regs, as nothing has changed since last season, i wont ramble on !

Make sure you check for track specific info, especially hotspots, track limits and pit requirements.

Welcome to season 14. Hope we all have some great racing, yet again. will keep this short and sweet as we all know the rules and regs as been here a while now !

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Round 1 is always a bit of a hot round, and lap 1 round here can be messy if drivers dont use your heads. The run off the line can be tight, so stay in your lane until the brake zone for turn 2. Then cars should be close to single file....
TURN 1 - Dont run up the arse of the car in front and drive off !
CORKSCREW - Easy to run deep and mess it up. If you knock someone off, or make a mistake there, make sure you are careful when returning to the track.

TRACK LIMITS - Isnt really anywhere here to cut and gain advantage without taking your bucket and spade with you!

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tyres, but may do if you wish.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT
    ENTRY
    - Is pretty straight forward. Make sure you dont spin and block the lane for others !
EXIT - Drivers MUST use the FULL exit lane as always. Any drivers found to have driven straight out onto the pit straight will be penalised. Once out of the lane, make sure you are aware of drivers exiting turn 2.

PROTESTS - As always, save your replay, and if there is an issue PLEASE let the mod team know. DO NOT blow up in the forum or on the mic after the race. You have until midnight Monday night to make us aware of your protest. Please remember that we have a hard stance on any abuse, so please do the right thing if you feel something needs to be looked at.

    ROUND 2 - 21st Feb - Sugo (Wet / Dry round) - 8/6/2021 - Laps 30
    Qual
    - 2pm Overcast
Race Start - 3pm - Light rain / Med cloud / Light cloud / Clear
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES
    - Fuel : Real
    - TYRE WEAR : ACCELERATED
    - Weather progression : Sync to race

Ok guys, on to round 2 At Sugo !

    Notes from Round 1
    - Cant remember a first round where there were no protests, and TBH i didnt even hear anyone complaining about anything ! Either the driving standards were really good, or people didnt bother holding drivers to account. Certainly hope it was the former !
    - A few of us in Div 1 could save replays as we forgot to make space. Make sure you clear it this week so you have the replay if needed.
    - I was made aware about an hour before the race last week that you CAN actually adjust the front and rear antiroll bars on this car. TBH, i found minimal difference to the car, with no real gain in lap speed. That may be more to do with the fact that i havent done many laps in prac / testing, but the option is there if drivers want to make adjustments.

will keep this short and sweet as we all know the rules and regs as been here a while now !

    TRACK HOT SPOTS -

TURN 1 - Dont run up the arse of the car in front and drive off on the first lap ! The wet track for the first half of the race will make things quite challenging, and the track starts to dry out between laps 8-12 depending on the room.
S Shape CURVE (T5/6 chicane) - Is really only a 1 line part of the track, and i guarantee if you try to get through there 2 wide, then 1 or both cars will end up in the fence. Neither car has the right of way there, EXCEPT if there is 1 car clearly in front (half a car length say) .... Use your heads here guys.
HORSEBACK CORNER - (turn 9 at end of back straight) - Real chance of rear ending car in front if not careful. Especially in the wet. Redress if you need to.

TRACK LIMITS - Isnt really anywhere here to cut and gain advantage.
    - Left side of turn 1 - Drivers must not consistently run to the left of the ripple strip on exit of 1

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tyres, but may do if you wish.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT
    ENTRY
    - Is pretty straight forward, HOWEVER, the lane is very short so make sure you know where to brake so you dont get a speeding penalty. If following someone
EXIT - Is a little tight on exit, so make sure you stay right in case of drivers coming through on a race lap. Any drivers who are leaving the lane and dont use the exit lane, will be responsible for any contact with cars on a normal race lap.

GRID SIZES - With some drivers returning from their Valentines day brownie point collecting events or Chairman Dans lockdown, there will be slightly fuller grids this week. Please be mindful of that in Qual where if you are going slow, keep watch for guys on a hot lap. Also Lap 1 in the rain, make sure you give room, and respect the drivers around you. The track is fairly short and tight so you will need to be patient in trying to make a pass at T1, T9 and possibly Final Corner.

Ok guys, This will be tough race given the unforgiving layout of the track.
We havent raced here for a long time, so will need to be a few things ALL drivers need to be aware of...
More on that in the briefing

    NOTES FROM ROUND 2
    - 3 protests from last round. All are nearly sorted, and will get the reports up ASAP so Bounty can sort the ladders.
    - I cant stress enough how important it is for drivers to protest if they have been hit / spun or had someone race against the rules. Yes a protest gives us work to chase up, but its the only way to make all drivers accountable for the way they drive, and through the system we have, we would hope that penalties where warranted will make the racing better for everyone.
    - Was a few drivers who had issues in the pits with tyres etc. Im not sure if this was a game glitch or something wrong with options selected, but make sure if you change tyres you need to have "all" selected, NOT "recommended"

TRACK HOT SPOTS - One of the big issues with a street track is when a car hits the wall and "stops' the cars behind tend to get caught up in someone elses accident. Be mindful of that if making a pass, of if the car in front is loose.
TURN 1 - Yep, its fast, its 90* and a pack of cars on lap 1 will turn to a scrap yard if the back half dont slow at the right time.
TURN 2-3 - The 'roundabout', is one lane, so make sure you give room and give way to another car if they have right of way. Things should settle down on lap 2...
Turn 8 - The car wants to understeer here, so be carefull when following another car as they might catch you out if they hit the wall.
Turn 11 - The hairpin onto the front straight. Its tight, so dont rear end another car into a spin as being crossed up there will create chaos.

TRACK LIMITS - As a street circuit is only 2 spots to be aware of
    - Inside of TURN 5 - Drivers must not consistently run to the right of the ripple strip on exit.
    - Inside of TURN 10 - Must keep some part of the tyres on the ripple strip on the left hander

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tyres, but may do if you wish.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT
    ENTRY
    - Is pretty tough on entry. I would say that the best entry is from mid track, so make sure you practice a couple of entries, the control line is very close and pretty easy to cop a penalty
EXIT - Is straight forward, but NEED TO STAY IN THE EXIT LINES or you may cop a penalty. Ive seen it here before

GRID SIZES - Hopefully bigger grids will see some great racing, so please be mindful in Qual not to get in anyones way of you are not on a fast lap.

Ok Guys, Sprint round this week....2 races, with reverse grid for second race.

Notes from last week.... Div 1 will be running the round at the end of the season. We had all sorts of connection issues for some reason.. Only other thing was the inevitable contact at turn 1 from drivers braking too late.

    TRACK HOT SPOTS -
TURN 1 - As always, a big stop at turn 1 will see chaos if the back half of the grid dont use your heads.
TURN 6 - A decent passing spot but you will need to give room, and be well along side if you are going to put your car up the inside there. Be aware of the ripple strips unsettling the car
Turn 10 (dunlop) - Another big brake zone so dont rear end someone trying to make spots.
Turn 13 to 16 - This sequence of corners is easy to get up the inside, but also just as easy to turn another car into a spin if there is even a little contact. Be aware of those around you, and be careful of throwing up the inside if not quite there.

TRACK LIMITS - Overall there are a few different spots where its easy to run wide and out of track limits, but they are generally going to hurt your lap time. As always, normal track limit rules will apply.
    - Exit of 1 - In the past the issue here has been cars returning to the track. If you go wide be careful of cars on the race line.
    - Turn 3 (coca-cola) - Both entry and exit here... Be wary of the ripple strips
    - Turn 16 - Entry onto pit straight. Drivers MUST stay to the right of the ripple strip on the exit.

    SPRINT RACE FORMAT
    - QUAL - 10 mins as normal
    - RACE 1 - Start as normal, no pit stop required.

    -
RACE 2 - Reverse grid based on race 1 results. Room host will start race and drivers will line up in reverse order by TURN 3. When in order, cars will drive single file at approx. 100kmph till the last turn where the lead driver will start the race from TURN 16. NO PASSING HOWEVER TILL THE START / FINISH LINE.

POINTS - Race 1 will be full points. Race 2 will be half points. Points will be combined for both races, and then the highest points will be deemed round winner. If on equal points from both races, the highest finisher from race 1 will be deemed the higher finisher

Compulsory pit stop - Not required.
    PIT ENTRY / EXIT
    ENTRY
    - If needed for drive through, is a simple entry. Drivers MUST not cut the entry though.
EXIT - Is straight forward, stay right of track till entry to turn 1

GRID SIZES - Hopefully bigger grids will see some great racing, so please be mindful in Qual not to get in anyones way of you are not on a fast lap.

Ok Guys, Well done to everyone last week. On to a track that is almost polar opposite, fast, tight and rough !

37 laps, so you need to work out of you need to take tyres to get through... Discuss in your team chats.
TRACK HOT SPOTS - Its pretty tough to pass here, so you will need to be patient or use your strategy to make track position.
    - Exit of turn 1 (Redgate) can be a passing spot if the car in front has made a mistake on entry, just be aware that the run down the hill is 1 line, so drivers will have to give room. I wouldnt recommend fighting for position through here !
    - Old Hairpin has generally seen some incidents in the past. If you run wide, and a car has a run, would be best to let them go as fighting there will create issues.
    - The Esses, again will be on exit with cars having a run, if someone has a crack at you, give room and only fight as much as you need to without creating chaos ! The exit is harsh if you take too much curb, it tends to spit you onto 2 wheels, and then your a passenger.

    TRACK LIMITS -
    - Inside of OLD HAIRPIN drivers must not cut
    - Inside of Mcleans Corner, drivers must not cut
    - The Esses, is the only real spot to cut and gain advantage. We all know the rules.

Stay left until you know the track is clear for the turn in to Redgate.

GRID SIZES - Hopefully bigger grids will see some great racing, so please be mindful in Qual not to get in anyones way of you are not on a fast lap.

    ROUND 6 - 21st March - Hockenheim GP (ENDURO) - 6/7/2021 - Laps 45
    Qual - 2pm - Hazy
    Race Start
    - 3pm - Med Cloud / Light Cloud / Clear / Med Cloud
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES
    - Fuel : Real
    - TYRE WEAR : ACCELERATED
    - Weather progression : Sync to race

Ok Guys, Enduro time.... Specific info below....

    Comments from last week....
    - Largely well done to everyone... Was a couple of incidents last week, but no protests forthcoming.

    - If you are NOT racing this week let us know and we might look at merging the divs for the enduro if required... In the past the enduro does tend to have smaller numbers so please let us know if youre NOT coming.... Based on div numbers we should be ok to stay in 3 divs, but would have to have 2 divs of 7 or 8 ....

ENDURO this week so 45 laps of Hockenheim will be a tough gig..... Discuss in your team chats.
    - Fuel will be very tight. The car starts on 110L, and by my very rough calculations based on my fuel usage i will need 112L. Fuel saving required ? As for tyres, the fronts get punished, so 1 set of tyres or 2 ??? Million dollar question ! Discuss in team chats i reckon if anyone done a full distance.

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Is plenty of places to make a pass here so just need to be patient and bide your time.
    - Turn 1 - if you get in too hot here the ripple strip on the left can be a killer !
    - Turn 2 - A good run through 1 can set you up for a pass into 2.. Make sure you give room
    - Turn 6 - A big braking zone with a hairpin is a double edged sword.. Good chance to make a pass, also a spot to mess up with a divebomb and take people out. Use your head, pull out if youve messed it up, redress if needed.

    - Turn 8 - Is a fast approach with a 90* left that does tend to catch people out.
    - Turn 13 - Always seems to create a few issues with guys throwing it up the inside. Make sure you are along side early before you attempt a pass there. With sand on the exit, when you get it wrong it costs a lot of time.

    TRACK LIMITS -
    - Turn 1 - Make sure you stay on the apex curb through 1, and stay inside track limits on exit.
    - Turn 10 - Again, must not run to the left of the exit curb after 10.
    - Turn 16 - must not run to the left of the exit curb, this straightens the entry onto the main straight and will be penalised if drivers do it consistantly.

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tyres, but may do if you wish.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT
    ENTRY
    - Is pretty tough on entry. If you get in too fast you risk running onto the grass on the left, and that turn ugly very quick ! Not long either before the control line. Slow in time !
EXIT - Is straight forward, Stay right untill you get to the brake zone for turn 2, you will know who is around you then and can take the appropriate line.

GRID SIZES - Hopefully bigger grids will see some great racing, so please be mindful in Qual not to get in anyones way of you are not on a fast lap. IF YOU ARE NOT RACING THIS WEEK PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO WE CAN MERGE GRIDS IF NEEDED.

Where the hell did that season go !
Last round at Bathurst, note i have adjusted the laps back to 20 .....

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Its Bathurst ! We all know its very tough to pass on, so getting a run into Turn 1 (hell Corner), Turn 2 at the end of mountain straight, Into the chase and then Murrays.... All spots that can give a chance to pass..
    - The run from the cutting all the way to Forrest elbow is pretty much 1 line, so dont be the crazy driver to cause chaos !

    - Have found the toughest spot on the course in this car is the braking over skyline. The car does get light, and if you are late on the brakes, it has a tendency to want to go right into the wall.... Cars following have the issue of Aero wash as well, so use your heads here....Especially in traffic as a crash here usually results in a pile up !

    TRACK LIMITS -
    - All pretty much 1 line, only straight lining the dipper continually will be an issue. Everywhere else is a case of being offline costs bulk time.

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tyres, but may do if you wish.
    - You wont need fuel
    - Tyres.... no idea ! Talk to your teams about this....

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT
ENTRY - Is pretty tough on entry. If you get in too fast you risk running onto the grass on the left, and that turn ugly very quick ! Not long either before the control line. Slow Down in time !

EXIT - Is straight forward, Stay left until you get to the brake zone for turn 2, you will know who is around you then and can take the appropriate line.
