I did 2 sessions about lunch time and will be on tonight. Keeping off the walls is the biggest challenge.

Pleased to announce that this season's finale will be run as "Art Car Round"! Pay tribute or create your own artistic inspired livery on the GT One. Think classic BMW Art Cars, Porsches heritage hypercar entry, Ford Mustang GT3, anything a little bit different!

WELCOME to Season 9 for RaceOnOz GT7!
Please take a couple minutes to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night.
If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

    ROOM OPEN:
Room captains may have practice rooms open beforehand but should have the official room up by 7:30pm AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread know if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.

    SIGHT ISSUES:
Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again. Type the number of cars you can see in the lobby chat and cross check with other drivers to ensure clarity.

    QUALIFYING : 8pm AEST for 10 mins.
Feel free to run practice laps prior to qualifying, The host will trigger a 'Room Reset' closer to the commencement of Qualifying.

    PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING

RACE START TIME : 8:15pm AEST

    LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS:
This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I would suggest only having 1 restart if required due to DSC, due to having to set up the room from scratch and also having to set timed laps in order to set the grid. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....

    Race Start - Rolling Start
For the first time EVER, we are trialling a manually operated double file rolling start in Sunday League. Below you'll find a quick run through on how this will work on the night.

Drivers will set off from the grid in a sensible manner, beginning their formation lap. The speed of the polesitter during this lap is totally up to them, however exiting T11 (the hairpin), the polesitter MUST hold 120kph (or similar) until the start zone and pull off to their desired side of the circuit as the field goes double file behind them. The field must not accelerate and brake erratically or weave after this point. It is reccomended for cars to maintain one car length to the row ahead, and to try and stay perfectly alligned with the car next to you (radar is perfect for this!). The field MUST be set by the start zone. The "start zone" is a theoretical set of lines between which the start of the race may occur, triggered by the polesitter accelerating to race speed. The first line is across the circuit at the slight left hand kink on the start/finish straight. At any point after this line has been crossed by the pole sitter, the race may begin. The second line is the start/finish timing line. If the polesitter reaches the start/finish line and hasn't yet elected to accelerate, the race will begin automatically. Any drivers who fail to obey starting procedure and hold up the lobby by accelerating away at the standing start will receive ONE WARNING over the season, after which they will be sent to the rear of the grid for each breach. Any major issues will require a restart of the race. The race starts will be under the jurisdiction of the Room Captain/s and only they may call for a Red Flag/Restart unless stated prior.

    TURN 1 LAP 1:
The old saying goes, you can’t win the race on lap 1, but you can definitely lose it. Please be mindful of other drivers on lap 1 coming into turn 1, and for that matter, the entire race. It can be very demoralizing to hot lap on your own for 45 minutes as I'm sure many of you are aware.

    TRACK LIMITS:
Track Limits will be OFF via the in game settings, and there is nowhere to exploit limits at Tokyo! Please drive balls to the walls, especially in the shipping container section. Kerbs are advisory, walls are mandatory!

    CONTACT:
Is to be avoided at all times..... If you make contact with someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Occasionally, Gran Turismo track limits may teleport a disadvantaged driver backwards on circuit to ‘reset’ them, if this occurs at the hand of another driver, IT IS EXPECTED that the driver at fault will wait and redress the position.
Side by side 'rubbing' is racing is allowed and promoted within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room. For clarity surrounding racing room, please feel free to PM @Viperzed
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

    PIT ENTRY/EXIT LINES:
Pit Line Penalties are ON so you will be penalised in game if you cut any part of the entry or exit lines. Be mindful entering the pits that you need to be braking hard around the outside of the hairpin to enter the pits. You may receive a penalty for misjudging your line on entry. Be mindful not to impede other cars on your way in. On pit exit, cars exiting the lane are reminded to keep drivers left if there are any cars approaching, you will have to give them space.

    BLUE FLAGS:
Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

    STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS:
This season, the Head Steward will be @Viperzed. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards may ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captains to make any decision.

    SAVE YOUR REPLAY:
If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

    PARKING UP:
If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car. Quitting off track results in a sometimes race ending lag spike and may be punished in extreme scenarios.

    ATTENDANCE:
Could all drivers please inform Room Captains or make a post on the division thread if they do not intend on racing on Sunday night, Room Captains/ Lobby Hosts are advised not to wait for anyone who has not communicated their intentions. If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race.

    TRACK SPECIFIC - Tokyo Expressway
Into a concrete canyon, Tokyo is a relic of the past come to modern life. It's tight twisty turns challenge the most experienced of GT drivers, as shaving the walls can mean the difference between glory and disaster. Drivers will have to be careful to manage their fuel given the extra formation lap and calculate accordingly for the extended 60 min race.

On a Rolling start note, most divs got this spot on last weekend. I've made a few amendments to that section of the briefing to reflect distance to car ahead etc and proximity to cars around. Thankyou to those who shared the div replays, I was able to have a good look at all starts!

If the Room Captains could also please include a rough time for the formation lap (the lap 1 time), that would assist in the Race Results.

Pulled the pin after approx 13 laps. Need to watch the replay back. What felt like happened was I locked up in 2nd place and went deep going into the car park hairpin, rejoined carefully but then tires were still on fire and spun in the worst spot in the second half of the hairpin, then hit by an oncoming car. Made the (bad) decision of trying to move more out of the way and redress for the person who hit me, which then saw me in the way of another unlucky person who collected me up (I think Controller) who redressed (probably shouldnt have!).
Got another few laps with many self-frustration-driven wall hits along the way to then collect an unfortunate soul turned around car (Feccles?) on the opening straights pre-bend. By this point was now 20 secs behind 11th place at only lap 13 and that was me.
Sorry to all that were affected, by far my worst to date.
Also slight incident in the quali opening, my wheel randomly disconnected and I think it ruined 2 or 3 behind me for the setup of their first flying lap.
    Sorry again.

@CobberSupreme it was me that t-boned when you were trying to recover at the container complex, I had no where to go. And yes it was me that spun at the final turn. I looked at the track map and managed to flick spin the car around before others came through only to have it spin again as I took off, when you collected me. I waited for you to pass, putting myself last then pressed on. After the pit stops I was 25secs off the next car and in danger of being lapped so pulled the pin.

I'm struggling for consistency with this car, and if I have another demoralizing race next week, that might be it for me. And that's mainly because I can't seem to find the time for enough practice.

I did a fair bit of practice for this one and thought I might be at the pointy end. Pre race practice showed I wasn't and then the fairies that carried me to pole last week completely abandoned me this week and I ended up 10th on the grid. I could see this was going to be a lot more challenging than last week.
Things went well though and I had moved to 9th as we braked for turn 2. Britz ahead spun into the inside wall between 2 and 3 and the others ahead were all sliding wide so I managed to skip around Britz and then a clean inside line to come out of the complex 6th. I thought this is all good, at this rate I should be in the lead by the end of the lap.
Those ahead hadn't read the script though so I stayed in 6th with a small closing gap ahead and a small gap behind me. I started to close on Eccles and cobber ahead for a while but then dropped back a bit. At turn 2 on lap 8 Cobber and Eccles got into a death struggle and I slipped through a gap to be now 4th.
I held that until the pit hairpin on lap 12 where Duck exited stage right into the wall and I was up to 3rd.
From about lap 13 Hoges and I started to close up on a struggling Tolley with Hoges passing him at the final corners of lap 15 and me passing into turn 2 the next lap.
I dropped back a few spots during the pit stops but once they were all done I was in 2nd again with a small gap to Hoges ahead but with Tolley challenging on his fresh tyres, I managed to hold off Tolley until his tyres began to fade but I couldn't keep up with a flying Hoges who pulled way from me for a well deserved win.
Next week should be a bit calmer on the more open Monza track.

That’s a really good result from 10th @emmo46 well done mate. Great win @RBRHoges97 in some fair company too. Good lap speed and consistent. Congrats. I hope to make one of these races soon. 2 minutes late for the first one and I like Tokyo but time is my enemy lately.

Yes, when you appeared during quali in round one, we were fully prepared to do manual grid and put you at the back. It's why I pinged you in the PSN group.
