As the title suggests, my G29 is now randomly disconnecting itself and also some times doesn't give full throttle.
It is now 3 years old, so warranty is out of the question.
The googles have been less than helpful as well.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Have the same throttle issue. Try changing the USB port that the wheel is plugged into. Taking apart the pedals to clean them will help a bit too, but it isn't guaranteed to fix them. I'm just waiting for Thrustmaster to inevitably release a successor to the T-GT fir GT7 tbh

I plug into a USB hub. So I might go direct. Same for power.

I've had the pedals disconnected from the wheel but the wheel plugged in and turned on and no issues..

What parts would I clean on the pedals?

The bits behind the pedal, potentiometers i think they're called. People have found success with electrical contact cleaner spray
    CornfordCaster and beakeroo like this.

Contact cleaner is a must. If not swap the clutch and the accelerator pedal. They are the same value only difference is the spring. The potentiometer shaft does wear and starts to have play. This will cause intermittent problems.

As for disconnecting issues it could be the power supply. I've had 1 of them be temperamental on me. I used an aftermrket power supply with a higher rating with no issues. Just wired it in.

I've changed connecting the G29 to the USB hub I was using and thus far its been on all afternoon (5hrs) and hasn't disconnected yet.
I took the pedal assembly apart to have a look, but wasn't game to play around until I got some info from you lovely lads.
Tomorrow, I'll go to Bunnings and grab some Contact Cleaner and give it a shot.

    Thank you all

Managed a full length practice without it disconnecting so there is that.
    Throttle is still blipping though..

The potentiometer needs maintenance or replacement. Electrical contact cleaner could fix the problem temporarily. The encoder and potentioment are the most common parts to have issues with the Logitechs and there are a lot of articles available on DIY repairs and maintenance https://iracecraft.wordpress.com/20...intaining-replacing-g29-pedal-potentiometers/

That is a very good article.
Since time is of the essence I'll just spray the crap out of it and hope for the best this season.
Since I don't use the clutch, I believe that switching either the pedo or the pedal will be a good idea until a new wheel comes along.

I've also noticed that there is stress fractures on the base where the pedals attach. If you've raced with me in a party you'd know how brutal I am with my pedals.
I feel that my efforts might be short lived
So with that said, what pedals or replacement units would be a good upgrade?

So, I've still got the blipping happening.
I will cope this season but I think I should be looking at replacing the pedals completely.
    Any recommendations?
    What works with the G29?
Should I move to another brand?

I have found swapping the clutch pedal over to the accelerator works. Make sure you swap the springs so that you are still using the accelerator spring for the accelerator.

Sounds like a weekend job to me. Not today for sure.
But that is likely my next option. It's obviously the cheaper one.

So I finally bit the bullet and took the G29 pedals apart and swapped the clutch and accelerator doodads about.
Had some minor trouble getting the wires to sit where I wanted them to but (I'll fix that with some tape later) it works without blips!!!
Since I've been practicing with my G27 pedals, I'll race this week with them and swap over next week.
    Very happy!!!
Thank you @emmo46, @T F Eccles @CAB77 and everyone else who has provided input.
    KoAStR and Hatfield like this.

Hey guys I just swapped my g29 accelerator with the clutch Pedals and it works a treat. It on took me about 30mins and that's including unbolting them off the rig and fitting them back on. Super easy to do.
