    NEW SEASON & NEW SYSTEMS

As our ACC league continues to grow the Admin Team felt it was time to make some changes to make sure the racing remains fun and competitive for everyone. Here’s a summary:
    • New drivers to the ACC League are not immediately eligible for Seasons
    • Monday Seasons will be split into two groups: Am Series (AM only) and Pro Series (Silver & Pro)
    • Pro Series Seasons are 9 rounds over 11 weeks (2 season breaks for Mashup Monday races)
    • AM Series Seasons are 3 mini championships of 3 rounds each over 11 weeks (2 season breaks for Mashup Monday races)
    • Mashup Monday races are run in season breaks and are open to all, much like Wacky Wednesday
    • Season races are capped at 45 drivers
    • Pro Series Enduros now award 10 extra points per position compared to Sprints
    • Discord roles, categories and channels are being tweaked
    • New teams championship system to run within each season
    • New penalty points system to be introduced
    • 2022 Season 3 Calendar is ready
      • The Season starts September 26th
      • Car choice will be locked just before Round 1 (meaning drivers can change cars even after the warm-up/test race)
      • AM drivers can change cars for each mini championship
      • Sign-up via SimGrid is now open (private links only - see below)

CHANGES TO RACE SEASONS AND CLASS STRUCTURE

We will now be running two separate series on Monday nights each in their own server. The Pro Series (Silver & Pro) in server 1 and Am Series (AM only) in server 2. This is to ensure that new drivers can race with drivers close to their own pace with less chance of having incidents with drivers of significantly different pace. Season races will be limited to a maximum of 45 drivers.

Both series will run the same track each Monday night however the Am Series will have shorter Enduros (75m). The Am Series is also structured as three small championships of three rounds each. For both series the Season covers 11 weeks with two season breaks. These breaks can host non-championship events that are open to all.

    AM Series Seasons:
    • AM class only
    • 3 x 3 rounds (6 Sprints and 3 Enduros)
    • 2 season breaks
    PRO Series Seasons:
    • PRO + SILVER classes
    • 9 rounds (6 Sprints and 3 Enduros)
    • 2 season breaks
Sprint rounds retain the existing points structure however Enduro rounds will now be worth 10 extra points per position.

    NEW DRIVER INTRODUCTION
New drivers joining the league are not immediately eligible for season races. They will first need to do some casual races and a qualifying hot-stint so that we can properly determine their pace and racecraft. We can then place them in an appropriate class and they’ll become eligible to enter Season Races. Along with this we are tweaking the Discord roles, categories and channels.

    TWEAKED ROLE SYSTEM
PC - Existing members as well as new members to our Discord automatically receive this role when they select 'PC':
    • They must then read the introduction document and click the reaction icon at the bottom to indicate agreement
    • This will then move them up to the PC Racer role
PC Racer - New PC drivers who’ve read and agreed to the introduction document receive this role:
    • Accessible channels in PC - ACC:
      • Announcements
      • Pit Entry chat & voice
      • Qualifying Server
      • Mashup Monday
      • Wacky Wednesday
    • Additional accessible categories*:
      • PC - SPECIAL EVENTS
    • Eligible for Wacky Wednesday races, Mashup Monday and casual Special Events
    • Not eligible to race in Season Races or League representative races
    • To become eligible for these a new driver must:
      • complete at least 5 consecutive valid timed laps within one session on the qualifying server. We recommend they do as many laps in a row as they can and then the best group of 5 consecutive laps will be used to measure their pace.
      • complete at least two casual race events (such as Wacky Wednesdays or Mashup Mondays)
PC Contender - AM class drivers receive this role exclusively
    • Exclusive channels in PC - ACC:
      • Pit Box (AM Series chat & voice)
PC Competitor - AM, SILVER & PRO drivers receive this role:
    • AM class eligible for all event types except Pro Series Seasons
    • SILVER & PRO classes eligible for all event types except AM Series Seasons
    • Accessible channels in PC - ACC:
      • Announcements
      • Pit Entry chat & voice
      • ACC Chat (chat & voice)
      • Mashup Monday
      • Wacky Wednesday
      • Season Info
      • Next Event
    • Additional accessible categories*:
      • PC - SPECIAL EVENTS
      • PC - OTHER
*ALL Roles - additional categories/channels accessible to all of the above roles:
    • THE RACEONOZ LOUNGE
    • RACEONOZ SPONSORS
    • ACC - RULES & REGS
    • ACC - DRIVING STANDARDS ZONE
    • ACC - SETUPS
    • HALL OF FAME
    Notes:
    • The "Kunos Lunatic Racer" role is being retired (sent back to the asylum)
    • "Mashup Monday" races occur on Monday nights both in season breaks and between seasons. They are casual race nights open to all just like Wacky Wednesday.
    • "pit-entry" is a new channel specifically for new drivers. This channel allows new drivers to find information about the league, understand our racing culture and ask questions of the Admins & TDP.

    NEW TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP
Our new Teams Championship is a fun way to spice up each season and adds a new layer of comradery and competition to the racing. Team members can share setups, tips and encouragement with each other. It may also help to keep drivers involved in the season whether their individual season is going well or not so well.

    Details:
    • Drivers will be assigned to a team for the season from one of 6 sponsor-named teams
    • The Teams Championship runs across all three driver classes and is unrelated to manufacturers
    • The Teams Championship has no effect on the individual championship - it runs in parallel
    • A driver’s individual race points each round can go towards their assigned team’s points
    • Each team will have it's own channel for team exclusive communications
    • Team captains are TDP members and will help team members with tips, setups, etc.
    • The TDP and Admins will assign drivers to teams in the most equalised way they can
    • New season sign-ups will be assigned a team based on the same equalising criteria
    • Teams may need to be tweaked occasionally based on Season 3 sign up numbers

    Teams:

    • Beyond Trophies Racing (BTR)
    • Bruce Hale Racing (BHR)
    • Gamesmen Racing Team (GRT)
    • Ignition Controls Racing (ICR)
    • Pagnian Next Level Racing (PNL)
    • Selby Acoustics Racing (SAR)

    NEW PENALTY POINTS SYSTEM
We’ll be introducing penalty points for drivers to keep track of repeat offenses during a championship season. Each time a driver receives a post race penalty or warning they will also incur penalty points which are added to any previous ones. These penalty points can lead to qualifying bans, race bans, season disqualification and league wide suspension/ban. Penalty points are reset at the end of the season. As this is the first season we’ve had this system we’ll see how it goes and see what tweaks, if any are needed over time.

    Details:
    • Penalty points are allocated to a driver as per the time penalty (Eg. 30 second penalty gives 30 penalty points)
    • The exception to this is that an at-fault redressed incident where no time penalty was applied still receives 5 penalty points
    • Penalty Points for a driver are reset at the end of each season

    Thresholds:
    • 60 points = Qual Ban
    • 90 points = 2nd Qual Ban
    • 120 points = 3rd Qual Ban + Admin/TDP Driver Conduct Review
Note: These are in addition to any applied penalty that brought the driver's total to that threshold.

    SEASON 3 SIGN-UP INSTRUCTIONS
Sign-up is now open however where you sign-up depends on your class.

If you were in AM class in recent previous seasons sign-up to the AM Series with this link:
    https://www.thesimgrid.com/championships/1973?s=xz9eqOyV
(Note: This series is split into 3 mini championships - this is for Series 1)

If you were in SILVER or PRO class in recent previous seasons sign-up to the PRO Series with this link:
    https://www.thesimgrid.com/championships/1832?s=T6POt4ym

If you are new and have not been assigned a class you will not be able to sign-up yet. Please contact @krunch or @CornfordCaster for more information.

Teams will be assigned at a later date. For now there is no need to choose a team when signing up.

The pre-season class review is not yet complete. If there are any class changes after signing up that require a series change the Admin team will contact affected drivers and facilitate the series swap before the season starts.

NOTE: If you are not able to attend the season warmup/test race you do not need to use a 'withdrawal'. We'll be removing that race from the series straight afterwards.
