Season 12: Division 2 (Corner Carver's)

Firstly I must apologise to Vendalism, on lap 15 he and I were in a fabulous battle with Disturboed for 4th place, at the fourth turn, the long, long right hander, he ran a little wide behind Turbo, I'm not sure whether he just drifted wide or was trying to take turbo around the outside but I managed to slither up the inside of him about half way around the corner, as we exited I didn't leave him enough room, I was struggling to hold a tight line, and I squeezed him into the wall on the left. It allowed turbo to get away as the bump slowed Ven enough to drop back from him. Unfortunately for me the impact sent me head on into the wall on the right and damaged both my front wheels and lost me 10 seconds to turbo and about 5 to Ven.
Again, I'm very, very sorry Ven, it ruined what was up until then a very exciting battle.

Congratulations to the podium finishers, you guys had great pace. Pole and fastest lap to Closey, well done, lucky for us you haven't got your car to sing yet!!!

I managed to qualify 5th with my fastest ever online time at this track in this car, I actually held 2nd on the grid for a good part of qualifying until Nugget, Stumbles and Vendalism did their final laps. I ran my car in the green and gold of the Jim Russel racing Lotus 59 that Emerson Fittipaldi took the Lombank F3 championship in '69, his first year in Europe.
The race started in a very orderly manner and I held my 5th pace for the first lap but then hit the inside wall at the left hand turn 2 which allowed Disturboed to pass me.
I ran in close company with him and Ven until I hit the inside wall at turn 1 and this let Evilmoon get on my tail and eventually pass me. I was now back in 7th and things weren't looking very good for me.
It took me unti lap 7 to eventually pass and pull away from Evil, it was a great battle Evil. Over the next couple of laps I closed and passed Disturboed, DekGT also closed right up behind us as well. Towards the pits stops on lap 12 I was gaining on Ven and had Disturboed and Dek very close behind.
After we all pitted on lap 12 I came out in 4th place with what I thought was a good gap back to Disturboed and Ven but I must have been too tentative on the cold tyres as Disturboed flew past me at the end of the back straight and Ven got me next time down the front straight. We then had a great battle for a couple of laps until I spoilt it on lap 15 and this let Disturboed get a 5 second lead on Ven and a 10 second lead on me. Luckily for me Dek and Evil weren't close enough to get me as I backed out of the wall and got back up to speed.
Ven seemed to struggle a bit over the next few laps and a moment for him at turn 1 let me get on his tail and then he hit the turn 1 wall again next lap and this allowed me to get clear.
Disturboed was still about 11 seconds in front but just like in the first stint I started to gain on him when the tyres were about 7 laps old. Unfortunately my incident meant I was too far back to do much. I closed the gap to about 5 seconds but then the gap stabilised and I followed him home about 4 seconds back.
Looking at the race lap times I was well off the pace, a second and a half from the podium runners and a half second behind the next slowest runner, so a fifth place was probably as good as I could expect.
I don't think I am going to be much of a threat to the fast guys in the Championship or the Rookie class for that matter, but it was good fun and I enjoyed some great battles during the race.

Just like he said?? There must be a way to change, I've seen a few guys with things other than active member? KC, Koastr, you guys have any ideas??

I notice there are quite a few different lines into and through the chicane at Monaco. I have also noticed that with weak penalties on you can cut an awful lot of it. At first I was just hitting the rumble strip in the entry with my right side tyres but the fast guys are hitting it with their left tyres. It's real hit and miss that corner, if you do end up on the inside (wrong side) of the rumbles it either spits you out into the wall or gives you an awesome line. I will be trying to keep at least 2 wheels on the rumbles.

I went from Hero last week to a massive Zero this week.
Copped a collision penalty for hitting Moon at the chicane after he hit the wall, then I tagged the back of OverDrivve when he got sideways coming into the swimming pool, by the time he got going again and I let him past, I was last. Did'nt get much better after that, couldn't get anywhere near the times I was setting in practice the other day.

Thank god that track is done with, move on the greener pastures (and no bloody walls) next week.
