I was just happy to make a even par round! After the last few weeks of tough courses.

    Course: Daisy Village
    Par: 71
    Rounds: 4
Difficulty: 3/10: Despite some narrow fairways, difficult greens, and varying elevations, an abundance of short Par 5’s and Par 4’s mean you wont be using your long irons much. Chuck an extra wedge in the bag.
    Predicted Winning Score: -40

Daisy Village is one of the very best custom courses in the game. A course atop a mountainous village in Denmark? Why not? Daisy Village is a course that offers a multitude of golfing concepts throughout its layout. Championship level difficulty? Check. Spectacular views? Check. Sculpted water features usually seen at country clubs? Check. Local municipal style holes? Also check. The back nine exemplifies all of these points to the extreme. It’s not going to be your most difficult round of golf, but that was never the intention. It’s rare you’ll stumble upon a course of this calibre in the game, so enjoy it!

    Daisy Village Front 9

    Hole 1: Par 4, 440m, HCP 4
The opening hole is a downhill Par 4 and offers a stunning vista of the Danish mountainside. An accurate tee shot should set you up for a wedge over a water feature into a clover shaped green. Pins located at the front will offer the best chance at a birdie. [IMG]

    Hole 2: Par 3, 128m, HCP 10
This amazing Par 3 requires a wedge or short iron approach into a small but severely undulating green. Two small bunkers protect the front of the green, while wild misses will be OB. Don’t get distracted by the beauty of the surroundings, you’ll want to make a birdie here.[IMG]

    Hole 3: Par 5, 482m, HCP 18
This short Par 5 is probably the easiest opportunity to score a birdie. Even if you elect to lay up short of the bunkers off the tee, you should still be able to run a fairway wood up to the green. Another wildly undulating green, putting is placed at a premium. Careful though of the pin in the back left, it brings the pond right into play. [IMG]

    Hole 4: Par 4, 273m, HCP 12
This spectacular short Par 4 gives the player another chance to be brave and be rewarded. The green is hard to hold and you must carry the water some 260m off the tee. Otherwise a safe tee shot will leave you just a wedge into this two tiered green. This is an exciting hole that will create plenty of discussion. [IMG]

    Hole 5: Par 4, 387m, HCP 8
A slight draw around the corner of this dog leg left Par 4 will grant you the best chance at a birdie. Watch out for the bunker on the left that’s hidden from the tee. Your approach is uphill and must carry a bunker and water feature and hold onto a green that slopes hard toward the left. Par is a good score here.

    Hole 6: Par 4, 167m, HCP 6
The 6th is a tough Par 3, especially when the wind is blowing. A green with a severe false front, pins are thus difficult to attack and long putts are the norm. Don’t fly over the green either, the locals wont be happy.

    Hole 7, Par 5, 532m, HCP 14
This long Par 5 can be reached in 2 shots, but you need to hit a sharp fade over the fairway bunker to have any chance. Most players will land their second shot in the fairway just short of the green and leave a simple wedge into the perched green that slopes off toward the water. Putting is very difficult here, so beware.

    Hole 8, Par 4, 252m, HCP 16
It’s not often you have 2 drivable Par 4’s on the same nine. If the pin is on the right, it’s a no brainer to go for the green. If it’s on the left, a lay up might be the best option. Regardless, the green slopes hard back to front, and will wreak havoc on reads. This is a must birdie hole if you want to stay in touch with the leaders.

    Hole 9, Par 4, 404m, HCP 2
This sharp dog leg right is an unusual hole. Those daring enough to hit a driver will need to hit a huge slice off the tee. Those who opt for a safer fairway wood shot will have a long second. Club selection is critical as you don’t want to end up in the amazing water feature that protects the back and right of this green, which is small and has another false front.

    Daisy Village Back 9

    Hole 10: Par 5, 461m, HCP 15
This short Par 5 is another opportunity to let loose off the tee. It’s downhill all the way and a mid iron approach shot will be your reward for a reaching the second fairway. You definitely don’t want to miss this green, anything left and long will be out of bounds and off the cliff. The green will feed your ball left, so ensure you approach is far enough right to avoid a difficult putt up the hill.

    Hole 11: Par 3, 105m, HCP 13
The amazing 11th hole is a short Par 3 over water and plays along the cliffside. Knock down a wedge and prevent your ball from ballooning up in the breeze. Anything right is going, going, gooooooooone!

    Hole 12: Par 5, 482m, HCP 17
While relatively short, #12 requires a creative tee shot in order to reach the green in two. The green is blind from the first fairway, and is well protected by bunkers fronting the green. Knock a wedge nice and close, and a birdie is your reward.

    Hole 13: Par 4, 459m, HCP 11
The cliffside comes back into play on this dog leg left Par 4. A generous landing area sets up a short but tricky approach into an interestingly shaped green. Each corner has a unique slope, so careful reads of the green are required here.

    Hole 14: Par 3, 159m, HCP 5
This Par 3 is very reminiscent of the 3rd hole at Torrey Pines. Its green is well protected at the front by a bunker, over the back is death and the green is extremely narrow.

    Hole 15: Par 4, 441m, HCP 7
Dog leg right Par 4 this one, and uphill all the way. Don’t cut your ball too hard otherwise you’ll end up in the canopy on the right. The green is thin but quite deep, accuracy is the key. Keep your shot on the green or you’ll have a tough up and down.

    Hole 16: Par 4, 411m, HCP 3
The signature hole at Daisy Village is a straight away Par 4 with a steep approach to the green. Avoid landing short at all costs and club up into a green that slopes hard front.

    Hole 17: Par 3, 218m, HCP 1
Unsurprisingly, the hardest hole on the course is a long Par 3, with trouble all around. Just hitting the green with any kind of wind is an achievement in itself, birdie this hole and you’ll be jumping for joy.

    Hole 18: Par 4, 340m, HCP 9
The closing hole is a short Par 4 that curls slightly to the left. Aim right centre of the fairway to leave a wedge into the green. The green is small and slopes towards the right, and is protected by a water feature at the front.
