Hope this isn't the case was hoping for more simulation but may be disappointed. https://www.gtplanet.net/project-cars-3-will-be-a-spiritual-successor-to-shift/
Will be interesting to see how far they get in their new console.... huge ask when your up against the might of Sony and Microsoft....get it right and they will be on a winner, get it wrong and it could be a very fast goodbye. I dont think they need to do much more than polish it up. Different leagues want different things and the reality is they cant possibly keep everyone happy.... The main things for me, assuming they have a dedicated console would be - Dedicated servers for room stability - Larger online grids. 26 would be perfect IMO - Defined track limits with penalties for those who drive outside them - Livery editor - growing the track list (aussie tracks would be great) - simpler pit options like GTsport.... something thats easy to adjust which then opens up the ability to run 'random' weather.
The unfortunate truth when it comes to the Project Cars 2 we run online now, the 2 biggest weaknesses are 1- the PSN, 2- the Playstation 4 console it's self. There is a pretty good chance that the SMS console is going to be fine with either triple screens or VR, plus support for the same wheels that the PC does now. And without the constraints of PSN, they should be able to make dedicated servers available (or perhaps even make it so we can run our own private servers).
