If anyone would like to help test the GT300's, please do the following: -Buy the premium GT300 cars (oil change) Lexus IS350 GT300 Base Model '08 RE Amemiya RX7 GT300 Base Model '06 Autobacs Garaiya GT300 Base Model '08 Subaru IMPREZA GT300 Base Model '08 Subaru BRZ GT300 Base Model '12 -Pick a track -Run some laps with each car stock (oil change, BB 5/5) using RH tyres -If any are way off pace, try them with RM -If any are way too fast, try the others with RM -Record the times
Shoot me a suggested track list, I need to BoP these cars for another series anyway this week so I may as well overlap my testing.
we don't have a suggested tracklist yet. Also they will not be BOP'd I can't make it at this stage, but good idea for those who are there
I understand they will not be BoP'd, but I have to take one of every base model to a few tracks anyway to BoP them for something else, so I may as well run them in stock config for Rooz as well. And I figure you have some ideas where you'd like the cars to be tested, there is likely overlap with what I am trying to test.
I was thinking, of just running purely real world GP style tracks... Suzuka Circuit 2014 Daytona Road Nurburgring GP/F Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps Silverstone GP Autodromo Nazionale Monza Fuji Speedway
What I got with a few laps on RH: Lexus 513pp 333hp 1150kg 2:08.474 RX7 512pp 337hp 1100kg 2:06.377 BRZ 518pp 361hp 1150kg 2:07.674 Impreza 514pp 333hp 1100kg 2:07.208 Garaiya 514pp 352hp 1175kg 2:10.693 That garaiya is horrible on RH, but felt better on RM (didn't get a time in though)
another idea popping into my head, will allow everyone to drive whichever car they would prefer but needs extra work. If we could have a benchmark time at, say, suzuka (possible round 1 track) for each division, in the slowest car then each car could be power limited to that time. But this means we may need 4 pp/hp regs per car (1 for each division) Of course, once you go to a different track, this can get messed up, so I propose PP penalties for the top 3 after each race (not permanent like titts, just for the next race) If this is a route people would like to try, it might be better to use suzuka east for the initial bop-ing since it is short.
There's no certainty it'll be fair or even up anything. I'd rather have the tiered approach of car per division with free choice to choose a 'slower' car if preferred.
Suzuka Circuit 2014 online lobby @ noon with RH tyres, 5/5 brake bias, no rigidity improvements and fuel depletion off: [Stock Transmission km/h] (@Hatfield 's times) Lexus IS350 GT300 '08 513pp 333hp 1150kg [270] (2:08.474) 2:06.087 RE Amemiya RX7 '06 512pp 337hp 1100kg [280] (2:06.377) 2:04.200 Subaru BRZ GT300 '12 518pp 361hp 1150kg [270] (2:07.674) 2:05.517 Subaru Impreza GT300 '08 514pp 333hp 1100kg [270] (2:07.208) 2:05.951 Autobacs Garaiya '08 514pp 352hp 1175kg [270] (2:10.693) 2:05.113
thanks for this. Running laps with you last night, I got the following: Lexus 2:06.682 RX7 2:05.168 BRZ 2:06.123 Impreza 2:05.621 I had recently found that in the season I ran in prior to ROOZ with these cars, different pp settings, and so I tested them on suzuka east: Lexus 505pp 50.042 RX7 504pp 49.943 BRZ 510pp 49.794 Impreza 507pp 49.963 I also tried the garaiya 507pp 49.648
@B-Spec Bob and I discussed the possibility of the div/car splits being the following: 1a - lexus 1b - brz 2 - garaiya 2b - rx7 leaving out the impreza due to 4wd and allowing any driver to use either their divisions car or a higher divisions car ie if div 2 driver doesn't like the garaiya, they can use the brz or lexus Something I would like to see is a new qualification time for this season... maybe set in the rx7 at Nurburgring GP/F
Suzuka East is essentially just sector 1 of the full track so not exactly a true representation of each car's capabilities.
a few guys met up at this years aussie gp. I couldn't afford it lol It is quite a tough ask, especially over multiple states
nah don't delete it. Just put it in the F1 discussion thread and see how many other roozers would be willing to meet up at the gp
Hey man, as a Melburnian I'd love to join you! I was also thinking of doing a kart get-together similar to the ones done in QLD and NSW: [Completed] ROOZ Karting Day (Western Sydney) 2: Birth of the Hat [Completed] ROOZ Karting Day (Western Sydney) QLD Kart Meet - Dec 11th - Sign up and info The two I've been to have been awesome. It's always a great thing when you can get a great online community like ROOZ come together in real life.
yeah im planning to head to Melb GP 2018 with A few roozers. maybe fire up a thread and get peoples interest early so that people have time to save money etc.
