Hey guys, I've created this thread to try and help out drivers in any way possible preparing for each track. In the past three seasons we had the Tuning thread, but with that now a distant memory, i figured it would be useful if we could get a few people uploading hot laps from Practice before the race weekend to help those struggling for time or not getting time to practice themselves during the week, or just seeing where we can all improve. This will hopefully give everyone an idea of what the pace will be for their division, as well as seeing how some aliens (Who are willing to upload) get the lap times they manage! I'll try to get a video out every week, however the more the better since everyone does everything a bit differently! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWvfIjGQ7DpNXxPa61SOeb6KkT7HCoTXo
1:50:9 I know theres 3 tenths more to find for myself on a perfect lap, but its unrealistic i'll find that lap time on Sunday Edit: I found alot more time.... tricky car! Feels like your pushing it but theres so much more left in it!
@TheJuzzy we need a hot lap vid! I'll leave the tag line for the end of the vid... But you blokes should all know it!
y braking points are all about 50-100m further back than yours in the video, Everytime i tried to brake what i thought to be late i would end up locking up the brakes or just clean missing the corner as the car wouldnt slow down fast enough. Any tips on over coming this? even playing f1 im using to the braking zone being only 100m but i noticed alot of yours were around the 60-70m mark!
You might be trying to turn in too late with my braking markers, about 25m before the corner, even while still decelerating, begin to put lock into the steering and it might scrub speed off quicker for you. If this doesnt work, it is possible to still adjust brake balance with default setup if you have assigned controls to do it on the fly. Moving it closer to 50/50 will marginally help braking, but the car might be a bit scary in places with the rear wanting to come out
Yeah i found that i was having the same issue as Crucial, but once i worked out the angle i need to get it to under brakes it shaved a good second off my times. @cruciald00dz, as Beau says, you need to start turning in while still under brakes, get it pointing at the apex a bit earlier and youll find that you wont overshoot the corners.
rightio lads i will give it a go, pray for me haha! Currently my best time is a 1.57 (during the race)
Thanks for this thread, I can only get into the 52's at Imola. Some of the maneuvers in these vids might be a bit tricky for me on controller but they at least give me somewhere to start to improve my times.
@Beau_Albert good thread, good commentary. I haven't had a chance this week to get any practice so it will really help to be able to visualise your lines and consider your brake markets for when I do get some seat time.
