I might have to try getting used to that view, I've always used roof cam as it's easier to see where the front wheels are, also a bit easier to visualise what the back end is doing.

I like the idea of really knowing where the driver is, but at the same time it sounds like it takes away the mystery and the intensity of the battles away.

the mirrors need to be panoramic to show those blind spots I think

if you can see everywhere all the time, then how can an attacking driver fake to one side and pass you on the other?

i wish more developers got onto the app made for AC, helicorsa, or something similar. its probably the next best thing if you dont have triple screen setup/VR, helped out in a lot of races.

If someone's able to throw a move on you like that you need all the mirrors you can get.

Hatters I'm going to throw something at you soon :geek:

you don't know the type of move I am referring to?
You see it in motorsport sometimes. The guy behind has a run and starts moving to one side which the driver in front covers defensively so the driver behind quickly switches to the other side to make the pass under brakes or whatever

    back on topic:
confirmed won't have time and weather transitions. but weather and time can be predefined for races. also damage is in.
also they won't bother with beta testing, "would rather spend time/resources on Nov delivery"

I think the aim of this type of Sim should be to be as realistic as possible.

In a real racing car, you usually have 3 mirrors all visible in your peripheral vision, you can see without actually looking when a another car is closing in and where they are. With practice it becomes instinctive to make adjustments based on that information without having to take your focus off of your lines and brake points.

Given that a single screen can't provide that same input, there needs to be more information provided in another way, such as dynamic arrows that indicate both position and distance for cars behind (like what is in F1 2014). To me this makes sim racing more like real life.

we are far far far far from sim,

But if we are trying for that approach, a panoramic wear view mirror is the only thing that can show blind spots, without adding all these arrows and stuff showing you how to drive.

If we get all 'sim' like which we aren't even near

But if we want to get all sim, make the rear vision mirror blocked by roll cage and wings

And the side view mirrors knocked off by lap 4 ;)

So basically guess what's behind you lol

For example if you're turning Into a corner in real life and someone throws a dive bomb at you, you literally have no idea what's coming, on PlayStation there's the massive rear vision mirror hanging there which you're always half looking into, I have had dive bombs thrown at me but seen them coming mimes away.

A rear vision mirror is all you literally need before you loose all driving ability because the games doing it for you.

It only highlights cars when they are close to you.
But when you run at the back like i do you don't even know its on the screen
